Forums - Sales - PS3 Sales Rocketing Will It Leave Nintendo In The Dust?

LOL! I think you're being too pessimistic. The PS3 will almost certainly outsell Wii and 360 every week for the next 12 months, and it will pass the current installed base of PS2s within that time frame as well.

I'm guessing Sony is going to have to stop production on all other consumer electronics devices and switch the lines over to PS3 just to meet short and long-term demand.

And as if that wasn't enough, Sony has announced a new high-temperature snowball that will not melt even in Hades.

The price cut will only have short bursts of spikes that wont last any large amount of time. Stop being foolishh OP.

im really a big sony fan till the first day i ever played a game but to going at Nintendo only because PS3 will have good weeks from now on is really stupid...lets talk about it in the end of 2010 and then we have to look at the sales...but now its way to early.

No it won't but it will catch up to the xbox 360

I was wondering what horse I should bet on next week... perhaps your crystal ball can help me out.

I don't see why anyone will ever buy anything else. And I mean anything else, no food, cars, homes, clothes, magazines. . . you don't need it. The only problem will be Sony keeping up with the infinite demand.

"short answer: NO
Long answer: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Seriously, WII SPORTS RESORT ALONE CAUSED A BIGGER BOOST THAN THE 360'S PRICECUT!!!

What these sales jumps fail to take into account is the depressed PS3 sales because the pervasive rumors of the PS3 slim and price cut as well as the stock reduction by Sony.

What is more important sales-wise is what things are like in October.

Also, Nintendo's response will be to sell a lot of Wiis in the holiday season, then lower the price in the spring. If Nintendo is making $75 on a Wii, it is not going to lower the price to where it needs to sell three times as much to make the same level of profit -- it is interested in profitability more than sales leadership.

So NOW the Wii is competing against the PS3? When the Wii was outselling it,The Wii didnt matter.
