that is just stupid

it cant be more then little turn or your not going to be looking at the screen anymore but the wall next to it

It is not stupid.  Google Track IR, it may help you understand.

it is

right now i move my head but have to keep my eyes locked on the screen---that is silly

it's probably sensistive enough that you don't have to move your head that much

and there in lies teh problem

since i still have to look at a screen i will either have to make a major movement with my head, or every litle tick i have might be read incorrectly

sony add in teh glases and we could have a deal

in ts current form

now if you were wearing these

so its head tracking would display in these what you would see that would be awesome

It's not about rotating your head. It's about rotating around your TV. Your like the earth (your head) rotating around the sun (TV).

Looks interesting... but only if it allows you to see more... otherwise it is just another gimmick...

Like how the Wiimote is a gimmick when it allows for greater immersion?

Honestly, this sounds like something that would be really fun to play with, even if it doesn't add to the gameplay. Of course if it means that it's slightly easier to look in the mirrors or whatever, then that's even better.

That was my point.

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

If you understood you will not be looking at the wall and still find it stupid or silly, it's your choice.  The fact is very similar technology has been used for some years now both in flight sims and racing sims and for many people, specially for those playing flight sims, it's a must.

with a flight sim you maybe 3 feet from your monitor, not 7-15 across a room

"They will know heghan belongs to the helghast"

"England expects that everyman will do his duty"

"we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender"

Same for a racing sim.   And why it will not work from further away?

Thats sweet, over the years of playing video games I have found myself moving my head to try and see different angles and stuff in the game(like a moron), but now it will finally do something.

Whether head tracking will work or not, that quotes confirms full camera control in cockpit mode! That's something I really wanted.
