Forums - Sony - Firmware 3.0 killing Uncharted

So I bought a used copy of Uncharted over the weekend, and it is literally unplayable.  I get to a certain point in the game, and it just freezes up every time.  I have read all over the internet that this is a problem with Firmware 3.0 and that lots of people are having the same issue.  What I have not found is if anyone knows when it will be fixed.  Are any of you having this problem, and if so, have you read about a fix anywhere?

Thats bad, hope it gets fixed soon.

Yeah, there was a thread that bobo (I think) made about him having a problem. Hopefully they fix it soon so you can enjoy a great game... I could see that just ruining the experience of the game for me and turning me off to the sequel even though it has nothing to do with the game or the developers who made it.

hey domi, when you guys are going to play LBP drop me a message in my wall.
i just got uncharted too, it should already this friday.

Some reason, I think I'm the only one who doesn't freeze on Uncharted o_O.

afaik fw 3.01 is on the way to fix this problem

I deciced to replay Uncharted to test this (first time in over a year since I played it) and it works perfect. Actually when I first bought Uncharted it froze a lot back then, but when I replayed it now it has yet to freeze on me and I'm 92% done of the game, it works perfect :)

You have to change the theme to "Classic" which removes the little shiny sparkles.

changing the theme to classic 100% works. i was having trouble with this since i updated.

the next update will be out soon as well.

uncharted works just fine on my ps3 - no freezes but i did notice that the load times when starting up takes about 5 minutes and the loading icon appears after cutscenes, when you move to new areas, etc... this never happened before.... lets hope for FW3.01 soon...
