Sheesh, for a guy claiming I need to read, you sure must do a lot of skimming through my posts. You've been arguing with someone, who up until know, agreed, for the most part, with you. I said in my first post that GOWIII would be a system seller, just not a big one. It will spike sales, FF will have a BIG sales boost. Do you compute now or will you continue to argue a point in speculation with me...?

I'm all for a good debate, just make sure you stay on topic this time. The sales of a game I'm anticipating has nothing to do with this thread, nor do I care what it sells.

WHY THE DOUBLE STANDARD

Japan has been waiting for the PS3 to drop in price and cover more JRPG's. FF is the mother of all JRPG names and Japan supports Sony. As I said before, have you ever wondered why the 360 doesn't sell well in Japan? Final Fantasy is the gateway game to the nationalistic mentality of Japan to help them increase PS3 sales. The Japanese have created a barrier for anything but Japanese systems.

God of War outsold MGS2 in NA. God of War II outsold MGS3. MGS4 managed to spike the ps3's sales by over 200% in NA the week it released. God of War III should do something similar.

I lol'd... Worst installed base of exclusivity? No dude, likely the best atm and in the upcoming season it will strike again. Just because PS3 gets new exclusive franchises doesnt mean those are worse than well reknown ones. Imo the well reknown ones get boring the new ones bring diversion, finally.

And GoW I & II Bundle plus GoW III will definitively help to shift lots of consoles as a part of the process at all

In all honesty, I can see it doing a bit more, like 3.25-3.75mill, depending on a number of things such as word of mouth...

However, it isn't going to be this massive system mover the OP claims it'll be IMO...


If Sony markets GOW3 properly, I wouldn't say it couldn't sell 3.25 M copies.

Final Fantasy is one of the biggest selling franchises in Japan, GOW is not in America.

 

Fair enough. That makes sense.

 

The numbers will also be skewed so we will never truly know how many units GOW3 moves.

 

Since a lot of people will be buying a PS3 this December with GOW3 in mind. It would be easier to say how much it spikes if it released before Xmas

Great point

 

I also think GOW3 will sell much better in Others than it's previous iterations did.

What are you talking about? The new PS3 titles have been selling just as well as they could've. GOW 3 will not shift lots of consoles. Watch what happens....you'll be disappointed the month of its launch and not seeing much of a spike in console sales for the PS3. GT5 will cause an extremely large spike to occur in console sales (especially with the price drop).
