I;m comparing FFX japan sales to GOW usa sales, and they are pretty close to each other despite how big piracy got in that 4 year time span of their releases.

 

If FFXIII will be a system seller in Japan, so will GOWIII in America.

It will have it's impact on sales, but it won't be a huge system seller like MGS4 and GT5.

it will bigger system seller and mass effect was it sold less, same for bioshock when it was exclusive.
its abit higher than those even with the high piracy of the ps2.
but of course GT5 will have bigger impact than those.
sony have many 1.5-3 millions games first party, way more than microsoft.

I'm talking about America sales only.

 

GOW sold more in America than MGS2 did.

 

GOW sold just a little bit less (.30 less) than GT4 did in America.

 

 

God of War III will be a system seller in America.

Thats because it was on the PS2. The installed base is much smaller and much weaker now. Sony better put all of their marketing might behind this game because it wont sell better than 2.5 M.

@ CGI: He's asking why it's not compared with Final Fantasy when (using your example) God of War is a system spiker, but Final Fantasy is a real system seller.

That's silly to say. It sold within the "playstation community" because it came out 2005 when everyone already had a Ps2.

 

It didn't attract ppl to the brand because everyone already had the brand in their household at that time.

Yes, they will both move systems. Difference is, FFXIII is going to re-define the PlayStation 3 in Japan, GOWIII won't do that for it in America, IMP (prediction).
