2.48 Million Sales in USA, released in 2005 when the Ps2 was heavily pirated.

3.02 Million Sales in Japan, released in 2001 when the system was in it's prime, and far less piracy

 

 

 

 

And with all the above considered, FFX in Japan only sold about .50 more than God of War in America.

 

So why is it accepted that FFXIII will be a huge system seller in America, and yet people refuse to accept that God of War III will be a system seller in America?

Because Final Fantasy is a franchise that's been around an extremely long time, has a diehard following, and is on the whole much larger than God of War (as much as I admire it). Are you trying to tell me that over 4 million people pirated God of War?

It will be a must own title for current PS3 owners, however, I do not see it really influencing hardware......much, if at all.

God of war is highly undertracked though, and it was heavily pirated. I did a study a while back and I found 2.9million unique torrent downloads for god of war, and thats not including news groups, friends passing copies, or simply ripping the dvd.

its safe to say around 20% of PS2s were modded, probably higher.

dont care about all the other bs, god of war 1 and 2 remastered in 720p and 60 frames per second, then god of war 3 will make superb sales and move even more ps3s.

God of War is not a system seller. The PS3 has by far one of the worst installed bases when it comes to exclusivity. The only system seller the PS3 had was MGS4 and soon it will be GT5.

God Of War I and II SOLD more than MGS3 and MGS4 did in America Didnt it? In America God of War is big. Elsewhere it won't even make a whimper
