We still have a chance, since they say they're researching the matter. I think I'm going to use my influences as videogame website employee and put some pressure in them . I will send them an e-mail or something.

I think that we all agree that this game needs 4 players offline (split-screen) to be a top notch game, a real AAA, the spiritual sucessor of Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing. So I ask you to show your opinion anywhere that can be heard (or read), such as PS Blog entries, this inteview, sending mails or whatever...

Damn, I was so excited about this game being up to 4 players offline...

I wouldn't go so far as to say that the game NEEDS 4-player offline multiplayer. Truth be told, offline multiplayer has been getting the shaft from most games all generation. I only own two DualShock 3 controllers myself and I'm certainly not willing to spend the money to buy another one just for the 3-5 games that would warrant it. I'd bet that most people have a similar view on the matter, too.

That's not to say that the game couldn't be improved upon by adding 4-player offline multiplayer, but as long as they have 4-player online multiplayer, I don't see it really mattering much.

kart games should have 4 player offline... like LBP

Well, it'll definitely have at least 2 player offline, so that's something. If they weren't going to offer that, I'd never buy the game.

I do hope they'll manage to 4 player splitscreen working, though. I have 4 controllers, but pretty much no games to use them all with.

I think all cart games should have 4 player offline...

I guess I am not really that concerned because I would rather play online 4-8 players then have to call over some buddies to my house to play the same game. People have lives and schedules that would really make a 4 player split screen game hard to justify time for. I am cool if they allow 2 player split screen or 4 player/8player via lAN and leave it to the the discretion of the software owner how he/she would like to proceed.
