Forums - General - Obama Xbox bias confirmed?

Here is a snippet from his speech to the kids today:

Now I wasn’t too happy about getting up that early. A lot of times, I’d fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I’d complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and say, “This is no picnic for me either, buster.”

So I know some of you are still adjusting to being back at school. But I’m here today because I have something important to discuss with you. I’m here because I want to talk with you about your education and what’s expected of all of you in this new school year.

Now I’ve given a lot of speeches about education. And I’ve talked a lot about responsibility.

I’ve talked about your teachers’ responsibility for inspiring you, and pushing you to learn.

I’ve talked about your parents’ responsibility for making sure you stay on track, and get your homework done, and don’t spend every waking hour in front of the TV or with that Xbox.

Yeah, multiple times.  BTW, Ballmer is sure to ignore it anyway but here is MSFT lobby info:

They gave 73% Dem last year, 2010 race so far 68% Dem.

So Obama knows how addicting playing with xbox can be. is that good or bad for Xbox???

He may talk about the XBox, but it's already well-documented what console he actually has and plays: he's a Wii man.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

If i were MS, i would consider it a PR victory. Their console is losing, yet is still being used as the euphamism for gaming.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Probably because in the US, there are a lot more xboxes than ps3s, and people don't play their Wiis nearly as much. And those that do are less likely to play it enough that it gets problematic, as in what hes talking about.

Obama is merely supporting American industry, are you opposed to this? lol.

He's using Xbox due to its higher popularity in US with certain demographics and to represent negative elements of gaming (from his view). Wii doesn't count as it's fun, you move around and exercise and he has one so he's endorsing Wii in a sense so can hardly pick that.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
