Sony responds to the sales of the new PS3 SKU
Posted on September 7, 2009 by Nick

Earlier today, reports hit the net that the new 120GB PS3 model sold around 500,000 units worldwide last week, according to preliminary sales data.  In light of the successful launch of the new PS3 SKU, we contacted Sony to see what they had to say.  While they were quick to point out that they hadn't issued any official sales numbers surrounding the launch of the 120GB PS3, SCEA's senior director of communications Patrick Seybold did tell us:

"There is an incredible value in PlayStation 3, and now at a lower price point, we're anticipating a banner run up to the crucial holiday selling season."

Early sales data collected by wholesalers indicate that the 120GB PS3 sold 150,000 units in Japan, 200,000 units in Europe, and 125,000 units in North America.

at the end of 2009 PS3 will beat 360 in europe sales, and in japan it will have sold more than 5 million units, in america the difference in sales with 360 will be less than 6 millions.

I can sense the enormous excitement in the statement.

Crude? Are you just plucking a negative sounding word from the air?

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
