The idea that Dubbed voice actors 'intentionally' act bad is just....wow.

Come on people.  Voice Acting for games has always been treated as badly as voice acting for Anime.  Its done as quickly and cheaply as possible because they know people will buy the game regardless of how the voices sound.  The very fact that games like this and FFX sold so many copies is proof of that.  They don't even need to have good voice acting for dubs in the first place, as the whole purpose for dubbing is replacing the original voices for a specific group of people who can't tolerate listening to Japanese voices.  These people are already closing their minds to the option of checking out the original voices, so its pretty safe to say they could have Brittany Spears and Keanu Reeves doing the voices and these people would still think they were 'superior' just because they were in 'English'.

The voice cast in Final Fantasy XII would argue against that point for originally-Japanese casts, and every game ever put out by Black Isle Studios/Obsidian Entertainment and BioWare would argue against that point on behalf of Western games. Hell, there are hundreds of games that have excellent voice work. What kind of thing to say is this?

Western developed games generally have fine voice acting because it is the original source, just as Japanese voice acting is the original source (both having higher attention to detail and funding paid to the voice acting).

FFXII had better voices than most dubs, but there was still a couple of voices that aren't as good as their Japanese counterparts and some drops in quality.

All right, point conceded in respect to Western games - but I can't actually remember these weaker parts in XII (though one could argue that P-

People didn't care for voice acting before because Japanese games were dominating consoles at the time.  However, Western games started dominating and the voice acting the average gamer was seeing went up and it has never been the same again.  Bad voice acting as well as many other many other things are now keeping people from Japanese games.  I read an article concerning FFX that the quality of voice acting can actually affect reviews and sales.

This is English VA at its worst(besides Chaos War).  If you think FFX's VA is bad(including the laughing scene): watch at your own risk

I actually thought X was worse.  I mean... the angel girl's voice is messed up... but she seems like well... a flighty character.  So it might be inentional.

like Okuni in Samurai Wariros.

Some do actually... because it fits the character.  Like the afore mentioned Okuni.  Some characters are actually just supposed to talk weird.

Just finished Djose temple. I'd forgotten about the temples. They are horrible.

Blitzball is actually kinda fun. Though I hate that I'm always so underpowered.

I do not think I like it.

Yeah, it wasn't my thing either.

Sad thing is that to get the best stuff in the game you gotta play it.

Quem disse que a boca é tua?

Qual é, Dadinho...?

Dadinho é o caralho! Meu nome agora é Zé Pequeno!

I want a blitzball-only game...one of the most addictive minigames I've ever played. I stopped the main quest altogether just to play the league

It started getting interesting to me once you leave Besaid Island for Kilika Island. I spent around 90 + hours on that game.

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Slaughterhouse Is The Sh*t  .... NOW ........ B_E_L_I_E_V_E

pretend blitzball doesn't exist

give the controller to your dog (YAY SMILE) or cat ( BOOOO) as it doesn't matter if you loose the game

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey
