The following has been making the rounds on SEGA fansites and messageboards over the last couple of days.

Apparently this is a BIOS shot of a new SEGA console based on RINGEDGE. It seems to use Toshiba's HD-DVD.

Hmmm I dunno, why would the use HD-DVD? BluRay is already taking the market.

Does Sega even have the financial stability to launch a new console in the current market? Hardware, online, and uhhh.......applesauce (can't think of a third thing, right now) cost a ton, nowadays.

Would be a first day buy for me....

No, it's not a new console. There are so many ways to dissect that and say what it isn't a console. One of them being that look at the hard drive size.

If they do launch a new handheld/console, it would probably be Godly... but this won't end well for Sega.

I really hope the final product won't look anything like that
