Yeah its a good system, not much problems.

Depends what you like.

If you like racing, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift and WipeoutHD (and Fury) are worth a try as both have demos.

If you like FPS', there's killzone 2 and Resistance 2. Both have different takes on FPS', but have solid multiplayers, and great graphics.

And there's always Uncharted for a bit of mindless run & gunnin'.

If you like a bit more chilled games, can go for Flower and Little Big Planet.

Choice is yours, but the PS3 Slim is worth a buy if you like console gaming.

rent Uncharted 1, maybe buy the second if you liked the first

buy either COD4, Res2 or Killz2 OR CODWAW (nazi zombies are best)

I think its a perfect time to buy the slim. The games you should purchase is Metal Gear Solid 4,Guitar Hero 5, and Modern Warfare 2 when that comes out in November.

I haven't heard of anyone saying its awful (aside from the visual look of the console), the only concern that I have heard of is the amount of heat that comes out of the console, but it is only a concern with no real issue discovered so far.

And considering that older consoles seem to be having trouble with the new firmware, the Slim would be the better choice.
