Forums - Nintendo - When will more wii third party games be announced?

a know a lot of people are saying 2010 will be the wii's best year since we will get the combgination of a great first party line up and a great third party lineup.

the only trouble i see is that the third party support seams to dry up after march. In Q1 weve got monkeyball, trackmania, red steel 2, NMH2, MH3 and other awesome stuff. but what is there after that. mostly it just seems like stuff going to europe thats already been released in USA. There are a couple of things coming after march like grinder and tales of graces but what else.  sega, ubisoft, capcom, EA and Xseed/rising star are starting to provide wii with a constant strem of quality games and were getting some hits from the like of konami and SE.  what i want to know is, when will the Q2, Q3, Q4 games for next year actually be announced?  i dont see that many wii annnouncemnets at  TGS and the october conference focuses mainly on first party titles

I don't see why people care if the games are 1st or 3rd party. As long as they are good, doesn't matter to me. Soriku pretty much answered the question with what we have though, which is a lot of potentially good games imo.

Edit: Also Nintendo is probably pressuring third parties to adopt their policy. That is the one that they want to announce games months before release opposed to years.

"I don't see why people care if the games are 1st or 3rd party."

PS1 years, to prove how much better it was than the N64. Now that the Wii is selling better, it's to prove that the HD systems are better. It was also used for a while when the DS was outselling the PSP, until support switched over.

Basically a fanboy tactic.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Nintendo consoles always have a bunch of 1st Party anyway, thats why i love them even if it had 10 games, 9 would be good because Nintendo made them, its like a warranty youll have fun, you dont get that on any console

Third Party you say? oh yes it just started, i can see big games Q3 and Q4 not yet announced, Square Enix will probably release another CC if CB succeeds, Monster Hunter 4 in japan if Monster Hunter 3 succeeds, EA games will release some games too

Nintendo is the best videogames company ever!

"Monster Hunter 4 in japan if Monster Hunter 3 succeeds"

It's already shipped a million, so it's a success.

Why do you think something can flop after it's made it's money back? And why do you think the PS3 is the automatic choice to sell in the US? Neither of those make any sense.

It's never going to get a lot of them like the other consoles do, so give that up.

Buy the right console if you give a damn about 3rd party support. Boy I tell you.... Y'all Wii fans are a trip. I remember back in the day we didn't give a damn if the Gamecube or N64 had 3rd party games. Nintendo was putting out games better than anything any 3rd party could do, so it didn't matter. Let the crap console *cough* PS1/PS2 *cough* get them.

3rd Party games are second rate anyway. 1st party games is what matters the most; they're the ones that are going to be the best games.

I partly agree with you. I'm not a giant fan of PS1 or PS2, but I wouldn't call them crap :p

Regardless, I generally think 3rd party games aren't as good as 1st party games either, so I don't mind as much about them.

3rd parties back in the N64 and NGC days were ignoring the lagging console; now they're ignoring (and in some cases insulting!) the dominant platform. By far.
