Forums - Nintendo - 2009 = Wii's Best Year So Far?

Soley the release of Metroid Prime Trilogy easily makes it the Wii's best year for me.

NSMBWii is a nice bonus too

Currently Playing: Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Super Smash Bros for Wii U

Predictions:

Super Mario Galaxy will pass Super Mario 64 in total sales CORRECT!

At this point, heck no.

2008 had Mario Kart, Brawl, and Wii Fit at this point

2009 had Wii Sports Resort, and.... ?

At the end of the year, it'll be a lot closer, though.

This year had the long-awaited sequel to Kororinpa.

I'm ashamed of the lot of you.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

I have a feeling that if Rol ever plays an "Awesome" game, his head would prolly explode and we'll never hear from him again, though I'd have to agree, this year was only good to me because I do imports. I'd have to say JP Wii games this year at this point in time is far better than the slew of shit the other parts are getting, not that western devs aren't trying, they simply didn't have the type of man power and budget 2 years ago so now people keep making piles of shit and we probably won't see any crazy stuff from 3rd party until next year or more. /shrug

Certainly if we are talking about sales, this year's releases have been weak so far. But in terms of quality, it is definetely shaping up to be one of the better years.

Man. I bought House of the Dead: Overkill (and I felt ripped off). Aside from that, Super Mario and Metroid Prime Trilogy may be the only games I buy for the Wii, this year. WSR looked promising, though.

So, no. 2007 and 2008 kicked 2009 in the balls.

*edit*  forgot that I got Punch-Out, too.

so far this year ive got; okami, fire emblem radiant dawn, house of the dead overkill, madworld, little king story, swords and soldiers, wii sports resort, zelda, zelda II, link to the past, majora's mask.

but this is where my game buying ends. im off to uni and wont have enough money for a wii let alone games. ill prob have to wait for the inevitable black wii MH3 bundle

If that is your bar for "great", you might as well throw in Sonic and the Black Knight. First half of 2009 was very similar to second half of 2008, minus the awesomeness of a Wario Land. But the next four months do look indeed very promising.

What game did I include that you have a problem with Rol? Cursed Mountain? Cause many people on this site enjoy it greatly.

All of them, except MPT and NSMB Wii.

But maybe it's my fault because when I read "great" I think of must play games, not just good ones.

Little King's Story is must play, I reckon. Not sure about the others. Muramasa not out yet in UK. Wii Sports Resort SHOULD be on the list though.

There's some strange comments from people (as always). There's been loads of very good or good games and a few great games. Some of the games dismissed by people have clearly NOT been played by them. Or they have very shallow and unvarying 'tastes'.

I can't understand people that have money and have only bought one game. There's so many worth buying. Tiger Woods could easily go on the great list as well, for example. Boom Box Bash Party is also a great game in my opinion. I suppose they have other consoles and want games for those machines instead.

It's been a good year, though. I've had something to play every day this year. Only time I relied on VC was the last couple of weeks when I finally decided to playthrough Super Mario RPG.

Yes.

www.spacemag.org - contribute your stuff... satire, comics, ideas, debate, stupidy stupid etc.

SMG alone was enough for 2007 to be great. Plus the hype was there, and wii sports was turning heads over. 2009 was an improvement over last yr, just not as much as i would've hoped.
2010with SMG2. MH3, and metroid looks awesome though!

I think 2010 will be much, much better.

I mean, Metroid Other M, No More Heroes 2, Endless Ocean 2, Red Steel 2, The Grinder, Monster Hunter 3, probably Mario Galaxy 2 and maybe even Retro's new game... Perhaps, even... dare I say it? Zelda Wii.

I mean, compared to that, 2009 is pathetic.
