Hrm... they were all great years for sure. 2006 was launch day and Twilight Princess, which was wonderful. 2007 brought both Mario and Metroid, and Mario starred in my favorite game thus far this generation. 2008 brought multiplayer madness with Mario Kart and Smash Bros, two games I play all the time to this day, and had some single player greats such as Okami. 2009 is probably my most diverse year yet, with RPGs, platformers, sports, shooters... you name it.
And there's still New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
