who cares, Forza is not a big franchise, please some of you will get very disappointed later on. GT is very popular, very, very popular.

Why would some people be dissapointed? Were you dissapointed with LBP or Killzone 2 because they weren't as big as Halo or Mario?

Explain your point. Who would be dissapointed and why?

Those people who compared these games to HALO AND mario were. what's your point?

Why do you always ask me to give you a point?

My point is your original statement was vague needed explaining.

No one here believes this game is as big saleswise as GT5, and the point of this thread was a quality/metacritic question. Who, then, is going to be dissapointed, exactly?

In the future, I wish you would at least attempt to work out my "points" yourself, or at least refrain from questioning me about them.

Your statement was completely off base, and I called you on it. Point taken, I assume.

Always talking down on people, but fortunately i don't want you banned again, I am always amuzed by your hate of anything PS3. I don't  need to explain anything to you, my statement was who cares about metacritic, what does it prove, both games will get high scores anyway. If you look, Forza has a higher meta number than GT anyways, but it still not in thesame league, not yet anyways.

GT5 hands down

Forza beat GT4, so it's most certainly possible. However, Forza had a few advantages last time that it doesn't have this time. If you recall, GT4's online mode was removed shortly before release, and the Xbox's more powerful hardware gave Turn 10 quite a bit more headroom for their physics implementation. Plus Forza had damage, while GT did not.

Given the fact that both games will have damage and online this time around, I think overall content will become the prime differentiator. From what we know so far, this will lead to GT5 having the higher scores (because of the variety of cars, GT TV, Top Gear, etc.).

I doubt it, but the GT5 damage might downgrade GT's scoring a bit

Then shouldn't Forza 3's lack of Rally, Day/Night cycles and weather also get that game downgraded.

(As far a si know, neither of those 3 has been announced for F3...

Good point, but having damage for a select amount of cars will be more noticeable to the average joe rather than no weather conditions, etc. once they get going into the game imo (they'll figure out once they see some of their cars dont have damage and thats a bit frustrating).

Don't get me wrong (I'd rather buy GT over forza any day since im a diehard GT fan), Forza's lack of modes will surely affect the scoring too once they compare the two, but GT 's select car damage will be noticeable and I'm afraid reviewers will take that against the game (even though I'm pretty sure many who played previous GT games don't care about damage at all, I know I dont).

I dont think GT5 will just have a set amount of cars to have damage in the long run though. They (hopefully) will do something about it at TGS.

All in all I predict GT5 to get 93-94, while Forza 3 to get 89-90.

Oh and to all of you comparing reviews before, then you're horrible lol. The last GT game to be released was sixth gen and in late 2004 on the PS2, while forza 2 was released 2 years ago on the 360.

Forza 3 has a 50-50 chance of beating Gran Turismo 5 in average review scores on metacritic/gamerankings - which IMO do not mean anything. The metacritic sites accept reviews from a lot of dodgy sources which are counted in the average scores.

Average review scores of Forza 3 between 87 - 92%. Average review scores of Gran Turismo 5 between 87 - 92%. The averare reviews scores of both games could be more or less the same. Big exclusive games tend to receive favourable/biased reviews to assist sales and marketing of the games.

Forza 3 has no chance of beating Gran Turismo 5 in game sales which count a lot more than game review scores.

Forza 3 could sell 3 to 4 million copies if bundled heavily. But will not sell half the total of Gran turismo 5 which is undoubtedly the most anticipated upcoming game to be released on the PS3. Gran turismo 5 could sell over 10 million copies ltd and become the PS3s biggest selling game. Gran turismon 5 may even surpass Halo 3 in life time sales.

If GT5 has some sort of fatal flaw yes. If not, then it might be about 5 points under or so

Just saw the new forza 3 videos, that's a much better improvement, but its still leagues behind GT5 for visuals. I'm happy turn 10 have been able to produce such a good looking game on the 360. I really honestly did not think it was capable of it. I figured crappy old unreal 3 was the best we'd see. I stand and bow to them because it actually made me believe it wasn't real at first.

That being said, it still isn't as good as GT5.

it probably won't (will be 1-3 points within GT5 though), but does it need to?

Of course not

GT5 has been in development for almost 5 years
Forza 3- about 2 years

Definitely maybe.

But I will enjoy GT5 more no matter what... because it's GT.

The better game will be GT5. More everything in that game. Just blows me away thinking about how robust the content is and how beautiful it is getting.

Scores, tho will most likely be a tad better for Forza 3, as M$ controls more media, plain and simple.

Better game ... GT5 hands down!

It's interesting that you've deduced that, despite likely having not played either game.

Best of luck to your prediction, however.
