Forums - Gaming - Can Forza 3 beat GT5 on Metacritic?

^ I wasn't trying to diss GT. I was being subjective.

None of the things that are mentioned are unique features apart from Youtube upload, but even then every racing game is uploaded on Youtube.

Nascar and Rally ISN'T in GT5, it's ust the cars and a couple of track. No season through 16 countries and 60 + stages, or a season of oval tracks across america. So that isn't features, but part of the car list.

What I understand is the following:

GT5: 800+ cars ( including Nascar and WRC )
80 tracks
Direct Youtube upload.
Rain/Dry
Night/day.
GTTV

Forza 3: 400+ cars
100+ tracks
HD Video Editor
Extensive modding ( including aerodynamics, and full customisation )
Full tyre deformation ( flatspots, heat affecting grip etc )
Full wear and tear dynamics. ( fuel weights, pitstops, and clutch damage from player input )
Forza TV ( similar to Gotham TV from PGR )
Facebook and Twitter upload of videos ( which applies to any 360 game where videos or replays are saved ).

But like I said, it's to early to make a decision, because we may yet hear GT has some or all of the ralsim options Forza 3 has. Although it is strange that Polyphony did not mention anyhting in their press release of features. Both games have other features, but they aren't anything new and noteworthy that both dont have.

I really am looking forward to the car customization aspects of Forza 3. Should be very interesting what the community will do with all of the online aspects of the game. I can't wait to start creating a badass Mazda 3 hatchback with a custom paintjob. It will make online races much more interesting instead of having the same old cars time and again, you can see people's creations.

Just watched both vids, and I honestly mean no insult to the developers at turn 10, but they really need to put their words where their mouths are. The graphics of Forza 3 cannot hold an inch to GT5. The environments don't even look that much better than GT4. Though I'm sure it's just because it's a wooded environment (trees are hard to model) but there's very little lighting effects going on and it all seems so.. dull? Like the colors and stuff, they don't look real. Anyone have a better video? This cant be the final build

the photo mode of F3 seems to be amazing

but the ingame gameplay video are ... a bit less impressive

that is why no one post them and prefer focus on the screenshot

the "photo mode" is already in gt5prologue the main screen has you looking at different angles of your car, photo mode=rip off

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Consoles owned: Game Cube, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PS1, PS2, PS3.

My prediction: NATAL WILL NOT help 360 sales. Maybe a 50-100k boost week 1, then a 30-70 k boost week 2, and back to the norm again after 3-5 weeks.

What do people mean when they say the ability 'to paint' your cars? Doesnt GT5 have the option to change the color of your cars?

For me the number of tracks is more important than the number of cars, because it get's boring fast if u run on the same tracks all the time. But I suspect GT5 will have at least as many tracks as Forza 3.

Close very close both games look utterly fantastic

Well tracks are as follows. GT5 confirmed 80. Forza 3 confirmed 100+.

On the modding side for Forza. Heres a modding video for Forza 2. Obviously Forza 3 is gonna involve more. But you get the idea.

Here is someone actually making a car.

And here is a Star Wars car someone made selling for 380 million. It's this community and original feeling Forza has that GT cannot have with basic cars.

Here are some cars already made.

Forza 3 equally good graphics, 400 fully damageable cars both in visual and engine part and physics aspect, rollover, more variety in cars(sports cars, exotics, suvs etc.), more tracks, exclusive porsche cars, Le Mans races, superior tunning options, ingame auction house, superior multiplayer, superior driving model based on the best racing simulator made exclusively for F1 drivers,

GT5 - about 1000 cars but, only 170 are partly visually damageable(no engine damage and physics aspect), no rollover, inferior multiplayer, inferior tunning aspect, less tracks, inferior driving model, less variety in car selection, no ingame auction house, nascar tracks, wrc-kind-of tracks,

metacritic can't prove anything in those games - Race Pro is still far better racing sim game than GT5 Prologue ever would and yet GT5 Prologue received better scores than this game.

as a racing sim games Forza 3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>GT5

a racing game Forza 3>>>GT5

This is a VERY important video. Watch all of this. The last 2 minutes show a screenshot taken showing tyre deformation. Greenwalt explains why this is the most important thing for a sim racer. ( Tyres are the only part of the car that touch the road. ) Explains how They sat down with Mclaren F1 physics boffins and compared notes. ( Lewis Hamiltons 7 million dollar simulator by the way. )

i've seen this video. i think that tyre deformation part comes from that F1 simulator - Turn10 got exclusive hands on, assets and feedback from its creators so we can be sure about driving model.

That is because MS has a partnership with McLaren on software. Now Turn 10 got to reap some benefits of that partnership.
