Many threads from repecatable sites are now getting many posts on how noisy the slim is and how hot the casing and outlet gets -

So how noisy is your system when watching a movie ?... Fanboys need not reply.....

huh? I just saw a comparison and they said there is noise at all when watching a movie or playing a game, it even showed it in the video..

HuH....is that so? well luck me then my ps3 slim isn't noisy like the others claim.....could it be that I own a very special one of a kind ps3?........

an actual dB rating between the two under load would be interesting, as would comparative thermal images

as for heat, isn't heat displacement the key?

If the slim is shunting out more hot air than the fat, it doesn't neccessarily  mean it runs hotter, it could mean it has better airflow.

I could take a PS3 and completely wrap it in thermal insulation; the unit would seem to run cooler (no hot air leaving the insulated/blocked vents) but I'm actually trapping the heat inside the unit and it would more than likely fail.

a friend og mine that has it , it is okay no noise i would say the opposite it makes less noise

it may be a temporary issue until sony fixes in the new produced PS3s

Not an issue for my one. Quiet as a mouse so far. Far quieter than its fatter brother.

Heat I dont care about at all.

But noise is important. I believe the dB might be the same between PS3 and Slim but the difference is the frequence - the Slim making a higher frequency noise and PS3 making a more humming noise.
