2nd greatest console ever made? What is your first, PS2?

Might want to re-read my username

Good point.

Whenever someone brings up the "best" consoles, I mention how there are two types of "best"
1) Most infuential to the industry
2) Best hardware technology and software library

Having PS2 as #2 and SNES #1 uses both construct one and two (I would say NES was more influential than SNES, but that is my opinion).  What are you using to base your opinion of off.

Maybe I am making this overly complicated, but I am curious.

1) Dreamcast - first to pioneer online gaming, first 128-bit console, first to use a format that wasn't CD-ROM, games such as the ones listed in my OP, created the predecessor to PSP/PS3 remote play with the VMU (they could link up to each other and were memory cards as well), everything PS1 did, Dreamcast did better

2) SNES - too many great games to list

A truly exceptional console that i will forever be more than proud to say i owned.

Dreamcast's library for the 2 years it was on the market>>>>>>>>>>>>> any other console in history's first 2 years library on the market, no two ways about it. Bottom line____________________________

Gone, but never forgotten.

In my above post, I meant to say Dreamcast instead of PS2.

What I meant to say is that if you are going to have a 'top ten' list of consoles, you need to pick between #1 or #2.  Doing both just creates a convoluted mess where the audience has no idea what you are trying to say.

number 1 using construct #1 is usually decided to be NES

number 1 using construct #2 is usually decided to be PS2

That game was so sweet. I've been thinking of replaying it.
