well halo was really close to being a playstation brand and elder scrolls was on the computer first so you make no sense.

No, but it DID expand it......can you deny that? (I myself never got it till a year before Ps3 came out)
If I have to name 1 thing I'll say, it made the sanbox genre with GTA.

Nah. PS2 and 360 have better games.
By the way, IGN does not seem to have any criteria on this (at least that they made public) -- so we don't have any idea how they were selected.
And little known fact, only the NES, SNES, N64, Wii, PS1, PS2, and Xbox 360 all have outsold the Atari 2600.
The SMS, Genesis, Saturn, DC, Xbox, GC, and PS3 -- as well as any other classic or neo-classic system (Jag, TG-16, O1, O2, Intv, CV, 5200, 7800, Neo-Geo and 3D0).

Well, let's put it this way, if somebody were to make a list of the "Top 25 Cars" would the Model T be on the list? No it wouldn't.
The list says "Top" consoles, not "influential" or "important".

this has led to me being disappointed by it.

Then why is the fastest selling home console of all time Wii.....in 10th.
why is the console that has brought in more newcomers to gaming than even PS1, PS2, NES even in 10th
