Saturn was there first.

 

Also... most companies tended to try and copy the N64 games of the era.  Mario 64, Mario Kart, Goldeneye and Zelda were some of the most copied games of the era.

 

The PS1 was the most successful, but as far as actual accomplishments... being the most successful pretty much was the big one.

1. The list is the top 25 consoles, not 25 most influential consoles. Therefore PS2 is miles ahead of the 2600 because of its huge library of high quality games.

2. I wasn't born for another 14 years after the 2600 launched. So what? I can't change that.


Mate stupid comment, because in reality each person has their own tastes. I bet that alot of people prefer the games (or at least think are better) on the console they first started gaming with.

 

For me it would be the NES because I was young and had plenty of time to spend gaming and I found the games more challenging without save points. But now there is not nearly as much effort or thinking put into games I play as I know a save point or check point is near so I can be more careless die afew times and not suffer and consequences for it.

Atari could have defined gaming on the early 80's, but calling it a better console than PS2, SNES or NES is just retarded. These three would have done so much more than the 2600 on it's place. God, is so annoying when shit like this happens.

The top 3 should be NES, PSX, and Wii. By the way, PS1 was the PSX's equivilent to the slim PS2/PS3

ohhhhhhhh so thats why khuutra said that PS2 & 360 had better games than PS1

as PS1 came out after all the great & defining games came out (which came out when the system was called PSX)
