Forums - Gaming - Project natal PS3 killer? or 360 killer?

Ok, so with the price drop from sony,  the new slim model and the games that will come out on this holidays (GT5, FF13 in japan, god of war collection, Uncharted 2) looks that thisoliday is for the PS3.

but everyone from microsoft is waiting for project natal, now to even compete with the Wii that in my opinion has been in another competition.

If MS does good, if project natal really works everyone has the hope that it will be in the same league that Wii is , on the contrary I think that project natal is the last resort of MS. if it fails could be game over for MS and leave all the road for PS3 in the HD competition.

It's a 'hardcore' gamer killer but a casual winner.

I think it will sell a ton of x360s because people will want to experience it since it's something they've seen in movies etc. Plus x360 has a good draw on the consumer already, this will just be the tipping point for many.

However, I don't think the games released for it will appeal to many hardcore gamers.

Arcade is still 199$ 179euros

if they keep being the cheapiest then they are not gonna die any time soon

Time to Work !

Natal could come in handy for squad leaders pointing in a direction for their team-members. I don't expect much from the voice recognition.

Natal won't be the "360 savior" or will the wand be the "ps3 savior". There's nothing to save in this consoles, their fine.

Both will be peripherals that will arrive too late to be part of the Wii league. Both of the HD consoles are selling for what they are right now, won't sell more just because of a fancy new peripheral.

Just like PS2 sales would be the same with or without eye toy

I wonder how the core 360 users will react to the rebranding of the 360 that comes with the Natal.

Wouldn't they hate Microsoft for straying off the "hardcore" path?

I LOVE ICELAND!

I agree with this.

I do not think Natal or the PS3 wand thing will be game changers in any way.

I think these periphrials only appeal to existing owners that are not interested in a second console, but are interested in motion control.I really believe that the average consumer will look at Natal and the wand and just decide on getting a Wii instead just because of the brand and it's popularity.

Neither. It will just be an additional experience that the 360 can offer. More is better right?

I'm just saying that right now it seems that 360 is expecting more from project natal , and I bet they're putting so much of their effort and hopes on this project, to counter PS3 and get into the casual gaming. leaving behind some hardcore games.

PS3 is doing the same but they're getting backup too from PS2 games, like the god of war collection that is a good move for sony I think, and cool hardcore games like god of war 3, uncharted 2, heavy rain, the last guardian, gran turismo 5 and FFV13.

I think MS will market it as the best motion technology around and will appeal to casual gamers...Natal will sell tons of 360's and I fear for the PS3...I really hope Sony can stay in the game by appealing more and more to gamers by using exclusives as their primary weapon.
