Forums - Sales - 29/8/09 SW Updated: Batman: AA sells nearly 50,000 more copies on PS3

I think Batman is just perceived as the PS3 Slim 'Launch Title' so to speak. Alot of new adopters are getting the console with this Batman game, mainly cause it's got alot of hype behind it and some shops are bundling them together.

They seem to be marketing it as a PS3 game too, with the exclusive DLC and whatnot, maybe all those games with exclsive 360 ads and DLC are benefitting alot more then we thought? Maybe it is hurting PS3 sales...

The main thing for me though is that not even 50% of Xbox's have live (might be higher now?) and I'd imagine PS3 online ratio is similiar. The fact is the mass gaming market don't even know this exclusive DLC exsists so I don't personally think it can impact sales significiently.

That's all? And to think that I had to sit through an endless stream of commercials of the Joker whoring hismelf out as a PS3 exclusive.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

There's twice as many 360's in the US, aren't there? Quite impressive considering the DLC isn't on the scale of GTA4 or Fallout 3's.

EXCELLENT

PS3 FTW!

I expect trends like this to increase as the PS3 slim leads to the dramatic rise in PS3 sales

Oh and there is of course one MAJOR factor called PIRACY on the 360 that will also seriously affect the numbers, until the PS3 gets piracy or the 360 get's it completly stopped you are only kidding yourselves comparing software numbers between two consoles where one has piracy and one does not only a complete idiot would not agree to that. (or a fanboy but then they are the same thing).......

O.o are you serious? Even with 360 piracy it consistently sells tons more software in NA then Ps3. The very few times Ps3 outsells 360 SW thats when you really use the piracy excuse?

Excuse ?, Not me, I say what I said "You cannot compare one machines multiformat software sales that has piracy with one that dosen't it really is that simple", and  I don't care who sells more games either as I don't get any of the money, anyway only a fanboy cares how many sales are sold when they start comparing figures with consoles they don't own, I can see no other reason why they would care? , I'm just stating an obvious point that some people like to overlook..

Didn't Sony pay to have some exclusive stuff in the game to ?... And yer of course the tempory rise in sales for the price drop and the slim will have helped a lot.....

And I don't notice 360 owners writing "And thats not including the pirated copy loses" when a 360 game outsells a PS3 version either

I think this have to do with the Joker DLC than anything esle....

50,000 is ok i guess..but I was expecting somewhere around 75,000- 100,000 witch half being in the US ( yes it's possible).

I'm kinda disappointed..but I'm kinda happy for the game....it's looks it'll a million be now and a mllion seller on both consoles which is awesome.

Suddenly people have such high standards for multiplat games to do 50% more on PS3 than on X360... while i think it has never happened before atleast in US for a new IP..

strange..

is it damage control or they have really set such high standards for PS3 now. :P

holy holy holy holy shit so AA sold more than the first estimate no one predicted that monstrs sales everyone were saying about 300k ps3 280k 360 but this is way more well done eidos good to see a ps3 game surpasses a 360 game

The main thing is that a (IMO) very good game has done well, and that ideally we'll see further Batman titles from this developer.

My niggles with AA are minor - I can only assume that a sequel would be truly excellent, building on the great foundation laid out by AA.

As an aside, what do people think about MP for Batman? I normally cringe at adding MP to everything, but funnily enough, perhaps due to the challenge rooms, I find myself thinking it would be really cool if there was some neat online modes where you are Batman vs living opponents for thugs, villains, etc.

Of course, this would require some serious thinking around stealth - I doubt a living opponent would so readily forget seeing you disappear into the rafters. But still, it would really deliver the ultimate 'are you tough enough' feel that the challenge rooms seek to deliver, and do give a good feel fore.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

oh yeah this will probably be EIDOS's BIGGEST HIT since like TOmb Raider 3 or 4 for the Ps1
