You gotta teach me how to analyze articles like you cause nowhere does he say Xbox Live is superior. He simply says Sony introduced it late. Maybe someone could point this out to me???

Anyways plenty of companies have come into something "late" but completely owned the competition and everything that came before them. Apple didn't start making phones till a year and a half ago and now they got most phone companies sweating bullets.

If you read it one way it imples Live is superior since Sony admitting they were late to the party implies they are still catching up - hence the other must still be ahead and therefore 'superior'

Another way to read it is that Sony started later and is catching up and that, therefore, PSN is not inferior but is just 'younger' and that, relative to each services' maturity, is equal adjusted for time in market.

I don't see any open admission of 'inferior / superior' but accept it is implied in the context and tone. The context and tone also implies to me that he feels Sony is catching up quite acceptably, and that he wants people to put PSN vs Live in context to market maturity rather than one being superior.

for the price, live had better be better. However, PSN offers everything I need in an online service for FREE so I'm fine with it. What I need most is the ability to play games online. Everything else is a bonus

He admitted they are catching up in the unified online thing, but "superior" would probably denote "better at its price point" which is highly debatable or in fact wrong.  So your crap sleight of hand in trying to inject "superior" in there, fails.

But Sony fans have been telling us for years how PSN is just as good as XBL...and even sony mgmt doesn't think it is...hmmm...some people need to re-evaluate their comments of past...

What I take is this.

MS were way ahead of us so when people look at both they see a more streamlined service IE superior.

I have never used PSN so I cannot comment on it.
Judging by your avator and name I doubt you have used live.
Still I could be wrong.

I didn't mean you actually. And perhaps fanatic was the wrong word. What I meant was if you're centric to PS3/PSN vs 360/Live you're going to read the comment differently and in context to your natural preference.
