Trust me I am no more of a fanatic than you are.
It just amuses me the way some (and I stress some) Sony owners cannot get there head around some things that question the cell and all that goes with it.

What I take is this.
MS were way ahead of us so when people look at both they see a more streamlined service IE superior.
I have never used PSN so I cannot comment on it.
Judging by your avator and name I doubt you have used live.
Still I could be wrong.
