Forums - Sony - Eye of Judgment Reviewed - 8/10 says IGN

I've collected all sorts of card games as well, including Magic, but it seems pretty unlikely to me that someone would go out and get a ps3 and the software just to play this game. I suppose if you already had the ps3 and were planning on playing the game anyway, I could see them getting to software, but do you see someone investing that much money when there are other card games available that are probably as good or better in and of themselves?

Not a bad score...they didn't really review much of the actual card game, as I assume they're not really set to review card games as much as videogames...

I'm not really a card player...the technology used in this game is cool though.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

well i for one have been waiting for a card game that supports interactive technologies. Like in Yu-Gi-Oh! I know a ton of people waiting on holographic tech to lower it's cost. 4 million dollars for a 2d holo image is a bit pricey.

What may be sad to some..this game will forsure bomb / not sell well at all.

I just dont see anyone wanting to play this unless it was Pokemon or Magic the card game

I'm going to get this one, and I've never played card games beyond poker.

Having played video games for close to twenty years ( I'm 24 ) I like testing the waters with experimental games and games that attempt new things.

Actually Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2007 on DS already has 3D monsters in their game. http://youtube.com/watch?v=h6c28CS50ls&mode=related&search=

The graphics aren't the best ever, but you also don't have to buy cards, because they are available in the game itself. It also has online play, and you can input your cards if you want. It's also a much deeper card game. In fact, I'd much rather pay $30 for that game after I read the rules of this one. The card game is just way too simple. Might as well play Tic Tac Toe.

It's great to know the quality of the software is good, but I don't think many strategy card game fans are going to be interested in this. It's obvious that Sony requested they make the game simple enough for casual gamers, but if you make it that simple you lose all the strategy.

In fact, if you are looking for a really good online card game I suggest you play Triple Triad (from FFVIII). There are a few websites out there with a very large and robust online system for the game. It's simple, fun, and strategic.

Good ,this is probably the best card game ever and the technology works fine .They have also ensured that you cant cheat online .

Well, I just read the review. It sounds ok - but it sounds to me like cheating will be on big time. They may also struggle to sell booster packs to a lot of people:

"The only flaw in this system we could find was that the game will mistake a high-quality, color copy of a card for the real deal, meaning a sneaky gamer could print off pictures of cards they don't have and duel online with those. While this is regrettable, it doesn't necessarily damage the gameplay, since they still have to follow the rules when actually engaged in a match - they just don't own the cards they're using."

...

I thought this was a real genre busting title, but I can't see it being this now. Its going to be more of a niche title, and not make a lot of impact on the sales front.

Very nice score, i have watched the videos on the PSN and the game looks like lots of fun. I have never played any card games before but this looks like it will be fun to waste a couple hours on each week. Of course i'm not willing to pay full price for it considering all the other great games that are coming out.

The score sounds good and the game itself looks nifty, but I don't know. I kinda agree with ssj12, that there are (yeah, I know some) people that wanted some kind of interactive technology.

But at the same time, I don't know this is actually that great in that matter. You play your card and you look at your TV. But then what's so different to normal card videogames? I find it a bit too complicated for your average normal card game player, and too complicated for your card videogame player.

It seems to be a good game, but I think it will have a very small cult following, at best.
