sdSorry for the double post. My g1 is tripping. I have a question. I downloaded NyxQuest on to my sd card but I couldn't play it. I had to move it to my Wii then play it. Why is this?

| Destroyer_of_knights said: when people bitched that the wii couldn't play DVDs, allot of Nintendo fanboys defended it saying that DVD players were dirt cheap, and that the wii is just a games machine, people then bitched because the Wii could technically be patched to support DVD movie play back, the Nintendo defence force again used the same excuse. I wonder if this stance will change, when and if the Wii gets it's DVD playback functionality, should be fun to see. If they do it, it better be free...but to be honest they shouldn't bother, the wii isn's a media center but then again it wasn't designed to be....in any case, if it's just an old school DVD player then what's the point? ALL new DVD players can upscale, same for PS3 and 360, the Wii would still be left out, further enfisizing that it's not a multi-media machine. Now if the wii brought Blu-ray to the table, then were talking....but I question weather the wii can even decode 1080p, or even 720p in software, since it lacks the hardware todo it. my 2 cents |
Why don't you read the thread. Most of the Wii fans are saying "everyone has a DVD player already".
A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.
Most likely announcements: Black Wii and the equivalent of Japan's "Wii no Ma" VOD service.
WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3
OH! DVD playback! It's not like that was a standard feature nearly 10 years ago, or like you can't buy a stand alone player for $30. Wow! I hope Nintendo isn't releasing anything that's going to hurt their financial line.
I doubt it isn't happening. Nintendo knows that a new system will not boost hardware enough.
Personally, I hope they release a black Wii with DVD, Wii Sports Resort WM+ pack-in and with a $50 price cut.
If they do, I'll buy a second one for my bedroom. In fact, a lot of people might.
I remember what Nintendo said before the Wii launched. They said they were gonna make the Wii play dvds in a couple years, that should have happed in fall 2008. It could be true but who knows.

LOL. Nice find.
Wii DVD playback is nothing. New colors would be cool. But I'm happy that Nintendo always focused on games and that's great as a gamer. I don't need this media center overheating coffee pot lawn mowing multifunctional device!?! Just a video game system. That's it. If DVD playback is added then cool. But I know I'll never use that feature. I don't use any channels on the thing except the one on the top left. That's it.
Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.
