i was going to say what Rol said, then i saw what Rol said...he got there first.

hell i'll say it anyway.

most of the AAA first party Nintendo titles are delayed, or if not delayed then given a very vague release period like Spring 08 or even more vague "some time next year".

As far as i can tell, all the main Pokemon games have been the same.
SPM i haven't played so i don't know about but from general opinions i hear its good, but not up to the originals standard.
Again i haven't played it yet but MP3 is generally considered the best of the three, so your opinion is exactly that, an opinion (sorry Nintendo can't cater to just one person)
And yes, Brawl is delayed (in US....Japan never had a proper date, EU still hasn't got a proper date)

Part of the reason i think more people complain about game releases in the most recent generations has to be the internet, in the NES/SNES days hardly anyone knew about release dates or whether they were late or not.
For N64 more people learned about dates but it wasn't exactly a majority of even the core gamers.
GC everyone (who is bothered about getting it day1) starts knowing about all the dates and when they are changed, and places like Amazon, Play.com etc start posting unnofficial release dates that piss everyone off when it turns out it was made up, or just a rumour. (Battalion Wars 2 i think comes into this category)

You are the reason why we "true" nintendo fans have to suffer with crap third party support. Thanks a lot.

Yeah whine some more, I am sure you will get better games. If you truly want good games, buy quality products from everyone and get rid of your elitist attitude.

Consoles I Own: NES, SNES, N64, GC, GBA, DS, X360, Wii

I feel kind of the same way, though I thought Prime 3 was quite good. It's really the only original Wii game that I like so far. Zelda was better on Gamecube and while RE4 was superior on the Wii I had already beaten that game about 9 times prior to it's Wii release(I still bought it on Wii anyway).

I was saying that Smash Brothers would make up for all of it at the end of the year and sadly it's been delayed. So I think this will be another disappointing year overall for me and the Wii but next year should be much better when I finally get Brawl.

I am a loyal Nintendo fan. I have bought an N64, a GBC, a GC, a GBA, two DSs and a Wii. I love Mario, Metroid, Pokémon, Smash Bros. and Animal Crossing. I only buy AAA first-party titles because I love the style. I have personal objections to Microsoft and never was interested in what Sony had to offer.

Whgen the DS and later the Wii launched, I was pleased that Nintendo had innovated and this had paid off with phenomenal hardware sales. I waited for the games to appear, and by Q3 2006 I was really excited - for the first time, so many first-party titles had been announced I wasn't sure I'd be able to buy them all.

Here's what happened:

In 2006:

"Wow. This is going to be the best year for Nintendo ever: Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Yoshi's Island 2 Zelda: TP and Pokemon D/P!"

Mario, Metroid and Pokemon are delayed; YIDS was poor; Zelda was nice but not stunning for me.

In 2007:

"Wow. This is going to be the best year for Nintendo ever: Super Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wii Fit, new Advance Wars and Pokemon D/P!"

Super Paper Mario was an easy and boring platformer rather than the excellent RPG I expected, Metroid got made linear and standard-FPS-like, Brawl was delayed, Wii Fit was delayed except Japan, Pokemon D/P was exactly the same as Pokemon Red I bought nearly ten years ago and Advance Wars was Q1 2007 rather than Q4 as was suggested before.

In 2008:

"Wow. This is going to be the best year for Nintendo ever: Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Wii Fit, new Advance Wars and Mario Kart Wii!"

...what next? I feel let down by Nintendo, and all I wanted was new and worthy iterations of Mario, Metroid and Smash Bros. I have a Wii next to my TV just waiting for them.

The forums really could use a Tissue Dispenser button.

Seriously, you don't like some of the games, big deal.   Do your research before you buy them, rent them, read up on them.  Don't buy something you'll regret and then whine about it later.

If you bought the Wii because of the hype or just because it was Nintendo then that was your choice.  Some people actually find games on it they'd like to play before they get one.  They're the happy customers.  A lot of people like games like Metroid Prime 3  and Twilight Princess you know, so do you like insulting all those people?  Is that your intent?

And also, people are disappointed by Brawl being delayed but notice how the rest of us aren't getting on a soap box to cry about it?  Some of us actually realize that it'll still be an awesome game whether it's released in December or February.  That won't change.

If you really are bored with your Wii, give it to someone else and buy a 360/PS3.

How is he insulting Zelda and Metroid fans by saying he didn't feel the games lived up to his expectations?

How about the people for whom those games did live up to expectations?  Is their taste inferior enough to allow them to play games that were "not stunning" and enjoy them?

If you buy into hype, prepare to be disappointed.

I haven't played Paper Mario before, but I love Super Paper Mario. It isn't THAT easy, I can easily get stuck but most often just because you don't see the obvious. But I've played for 12 hours in total and I love it!

Regarding Metroid Prime 3, it hasn't been released here in Europe yet, so I can't comment it :/

But Super Mario Galaxy is going to rock!

Predictions for December 31st 2008:
Wii 38,000,000
DS 84,500,000
PS3 17,000,000
PSP 41,000,000
X360 23,000,000

I don't know whether Metroid is good or not - I live in the UK.

Then why are you complaining about it?

Woah, a 'loyal' Nintendo fan that doesn't enjoys Zelda? Someone shoot me.
