Forums - Gaming - Just got a Samsung series 6 46"( LN46B610A4F)

^ I hate adjusting a TV picture (especially if it's different for multiple sources like TV broadcast, gaming, movies). I want plug-and-play - great default settings from the factory.

I guess LED costs too much for me then, it's still such a fresh immature tech that you have to overpay quite a bit...

@Zen

This TV Samsung LN52B750 cost ~$2000? But has it got a lil brother at rufly 46 inch?

They have the latest Samsung LED HDTV in our local store (not sure the exact model number but it is brand spanking new), soooo thin but the picture is very disappointing for a £2,500 hdtv, even the sales people were saying it isn't that good and they are recommending buyers to stay clear of LED sets for now.

There was a cheap 42" LCD 1080P HDTV (£549.99) next to the Samsung and the picture actually looked slightly better than the new LED Sammy! both were playing the same bluray film.

The thing is most people like the factory settings. I'm sure a lot of people will love the overly bright and color into your face setting most tv's have on factory settings. I never seen a tv with great default settings, not on LCD or CRT.

I personally like that i can adjust the picture for every source, because TV broadcast needs a different adjustment than blu-ray for optimal viewing pleasure.

What i do love about the Samsung LED-tv is that it only uses 96 Watt in normal mode. power saving mode it was even below 80 Watt. So it may be expensive to buy, i payed 1700 euro for my 46 inch, but it's a huge saver on the energy bill compared to normal LCD or Plasma.

^1700 Euro for the 46 inch? That's the price of the 40 inch dude.

God, when are HDTVs going to become intuitive? I don't even care for the HD. I just like the thought of widescreen. But all the setting differences need to be worked out, big time.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I know, in most shops here the 46 inch even cost over 2000 euro. But look around on internet and you can find it much cheaper on webshops :).

Slimebeast, quality control increases exponentially over 50 inches. Spend a little more now, guarntee yourself a quality panel, and impress everyone who you've ever known with a TV the size of a wall, that is vastly better than any panel they've ever seen.

That's just my suggestion.

This isn't my set, I think this is a LN46B70(you were asking about 46ers) off the AVS forums, with a nice bias lighting setup.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

The picture is really good. But what's a "bias lighting setup"?

Btw you LED-ers, whats the difference between Samsung 6-series and 7-series?

Series 6 is the same panel as the Series 7
The Series 7 has all the connectivity functions, streaming video from media server, play video off USB stick, etc, etc
Series has all the connectivity functions like the 7, but with double the refresh rate

Never argue with idiots
They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience

i compared LED panel and my tv LN46B750, and the quality of the screen isnt much different at all
