GS can go to hell. They terminated me in early 2008 and didn't tell me I was a seasonal only. I was going for a BFA in Game Design at the time two and helped take Hispanic orders *in Spanish*!

They MADE you take orders from HISPANICS? Is that really a grevance? Come on..

Read my comment again damkira.  I CHOSE too.  What pissed me off was that I was the only professional looking guy there and helped out even when it took more time to ask someone about a part game and then --- ring ring --We sorry have to let you go in not so few words.  I understand capitalism but I could have been the manager and ppl wouldn't have known the diff.

^3D Games? Never heard of that company...are they pretty good? Just local or what?

They are a franchise.  I have no idea how many stores they have, but their website says they plan to open 50-100 more this year, so I'd imagine they'd be in a lot of places.

Compared to Gamestop, 3D Games pays less for used games but their used games are cheaper to buy, and they sale retro consoles and games from Atari to last generation.  I've sold and bought a lot of Super Nintendo games off of them, which also makes me want to kick myself for throwing away boxes and trading/losing games with friends as a kid.  For instance, if I still had Super Mario RPG it would be worth $50 and if I kept the box and papers for the original Zelda it would be worh hundreds of dollars.

i have the box and papers for the original zelda, and trust me, im not going to get hundreds of dollars for it no matter who im showing it to.

Yeah but Game Stop is so convientnient, there thousands of them in America. So why not?

This thread reminds me of the Zero Originality series that was on Youtube & Gametrailers. Watch it when you can. It's about why working in Gamestop is hell.

If you don't like shopping at Gamestop, then why don't you shop at independent video game stores instead if there's some near you?

Why did the video get taken down on Youtube? At least I couldn't find it...

On Ebay, a factory sealed Zelda goes for over $500.  Regardless if people pay that much, the guy at 3D Games quoted a price for me, so he would have bought it for that if I had it.

Well I used to manage Gamestops sister company, EB Games back in the day.

My time there was definitely different, and a learning experience. I'm not going to go into detail, and I'm definitely not going to burn any bridges.

Only thing I can say, is I think I know what you mean, but hey what did you expect. Retail is retail.

I game.  You game.  We game.

I'm a videogamer, not a fanboy, but have a special place for Nintendo.

Current Systems Owned: NSwitch/PS4/XONE/WiiU/3DS/2DS/PCGaming Rig-i7/ASUS i7 Gaming Laptop.

Previous Game Consoles:  PS3/Xbox360/Wii/DSL/Pretty much every one thats been released since the Atari 2600.

I actually like my local Gamestop, the EE's are actually knowledgeable and multisystem owners/non-fanboys. Please DO NOT shop at Wal-Mart! They are much, much more evil than something as non-descript as GS. I would start listing reasons, but I would prefer you look into it yourselves. Or PM me and I can give you a really long list.

@anrgypoolman

So how r u gonna make your living now?

im going to work at a company in fresno called bre software. they are a specialty shop that sells video games. they are a lot better than gamestop mainly because of their customer service. every game is resurfaced, and the box is shrink wrapped for you. also, they sell atari games, genesis games, super nintendo games (my fav), 64 games, ps1, any games you can think of.

its going to kick so much more ass than gamestop. especially because im going to get first dibs on every boxed super nintendo game in the store.
