It is a promotional campaign that has been going on in Japan for a few months already, to help get more people connected to the Internet via their Wii. Until now, both the "helper" and the person helped have received 500 Wii points.

Connecting 20 Wii owners to the internet would be a good bit of work, even just finding and convincing enough people to allow you to connect their Wii up.

This is a very cheap way of getting a lot of technophobes connected (who may go on to buy VC and Wiiware titles).

I'm sure Japan has a far lower percentage of people connected to the internet with their wii. At first i think it was all games, then i realized (duh) it is just Nintendo made games. It's a good idea by Nintendo.

or you could install the homebrew chan and play the entire catalogue for free :P
