So Nintendo failed with charging for the browser huh, figured as much, at least their offering a reimbursement, which is awesome for those that actually bought it, assuming there aware of this of course.

I'll give it ago on my sisters wii and see how good it is.

I love the browser on my PS3, I can be listening to music from my PS3 while at the same time browsing...it's awesome for browsing forums like Neogaf and beyond3d, infact I can browse all of the sites I normally go to with out an issue, EXCEPT for VGcharts...for some reason it doesn't display the hot forum topics...don't know if it's a flash thing.

Anyways, I see how this new Wii update compares to the PS3 in regards to just pure browsing.
As a whole package though, the PS3 can't be beat, it does music and browsing at once even if the Wii beats it on the browsing aspect...but i'll find that out soon enough.

You are wrong. It can be beat and it has been beat. I just triend the new browser and it is faster than anything out there that is not a pc-based browser. I have been on my friends ps3 browser and while it is good and way improved over the PSP I just have to say  that Wii's controls and the keyboard is great. To type don't you have to get a PS3 controllar attched keyboard thing or use the onscreen keyboard? If so the onscreen keyboard on the wii is much easier and if you still find it hard go buy a 2 dollar usb keyboard. also I must say that VGChartz is perfectly shown on the wii. I don't have any problems with the browser whatsoever. Yes you can't listen to songs at the same time but who needs to nowadays you can easily buy a 30 dollar mp3 player and there are always ipods. Yes I know its a good feature to have that wii lacks but if you want to browse on your tv through a console, trust me Wii is the way to go.

Also have you thought about the DSi? Its browser is just amazing. Its better than wii and ps3 and psp combined. DSi browser compared to PSP browser? Thats not something you should compare cause psp's browser sucks. It get overlaped and the controls are sticky and the onscreen keyboard just doesn't feel right. I would give it a 3/10 and for DSi the touch controls for moving and zooming and the onscreen keyboard is just great. It gets 8/10...

2 points taken out for DSi cause it can't play youtube videos but hey flipnot makes up a little for it cause user created animations are just awesome. So overall score for browsers:

DSi: 8.5/10

Wii: 7.5/10

PS3: 6.5/10

PSP: 3/10

But I guess I could give the PS3 a little more cause you can listen to songs but then it still sometimes gets overlaped so I think I will keep it at 6.5.

you've take what I said out of context, taken in context though I'm basically saying Muisc + functional browser at once on the PS3 is better than just browser functionality on wii, To me doing both is important, hence my opinion on the matter.

Next time make sure you don't take things out of context, because in essence you simply making your self look like a fool.

As for browsing on hand helds, forget it, the size of the screen already puts me off, then there's the fact that you need a wifi hot spot so for me both PSP and DSi browsing = 0.

As for using the PS3 controller to navigate websites is easy as can be, I don't post in forums via consoles though, because clearly the PC is better suited to that, but for just pure browsing yeah it's good.

Also, I like the multiple windows I can open on the PS3 browser, very useful when someone post a link and you want to open it with out closing your current window, similar to what you do on a PC browser. So for me, playing music + brower + multiple tabs open = can't be beat, since the wii doesn't offer that, now keep in mind that this is my opinion based on my use, and that's it.

Ok so you feel offended. Sorry. I respect your opinion all I was trying to say is music + browser + multiple tabs doesn't equal can't be beat for me. I mean I want to have a nice clean look with quick lightning fats results. Sure its not the best result as the pc but for me I need a nice clean look. PS3 and PSP browsers get overlapped way too much and the pics don't show up on the psp at all and sometimes they don't show up on the ps3 while at the same time they show up on the wii. Also you do make up a good point that you want multiple tabs and thats one big major point right there but to counter that wii has got the ability to go back and show exactly the same thing as before. so you are browsing the web and you are typing something like this on the forum and your friend says lets go the link provided by the person above my post so I click on it and view that website. I click back as much as necessary to get back to the forum and what I was typing is still going to be there. Thats not something that will happen on the ps3. if you click back and you were typing something on that site its not gonna be there so go write that over again. 

But i guess that multiple tabs takes care of that problem so I guess maybe ps3 can get a little higher score of 6.8 rather 6.5 but still in views wii has got better. 

And as for handhelds trust me I know what you mean by they eed a wifi hotspot and so i don't use it anymore same with me but guess what I am at disney world and my parents stop at starbucks which apparently conincedntly happened to have wifi for free and so i went on my dsi and boom i am on with no trouble. also lets say you have wifi in the car somehow ( sorta impossible but who cares just imagine) and you feel like checking out vgchartz news sections for whats new but its a pain tyoping on the psp its on screen keyboard just doesn't feel right and thats why the Iphone gets praised cause its keyboard first of all is touch sensitive so its better (like DS) and it just feels right scrolling and zooming with a stylus or even fingertip but usuing the arrow keys just doesn't work. 

glad they learned from sony, charging 5 dollars for a free internet browser was insane.
