i hate long boss battles where one mistake can cost you up to an hour of work. Take Persona 3 FES on hard mode for example. If you muck up on the final boss (forget to get some charm repellent gear) you can kiss an hours work goodbye. -.- yukari ended up healing the guy to full hp...three times

"in-game fear" is some thing you don't want to encounter while playing.

Surely when you played these games you were hoping to have a good scare

Purposely hard camera angles (resident evil 1) like when you enter a room, and all you can see is you and the door but you can hear a lot of zombies around.

silent hill 2 when your running along that track at the start for ages ( listen to the footsteps) you can hear your own and then every now and again a faster set like somethings following you.

Underwater passages in open sea where i cannot see further than 20 meters. It's a general phobia of me.

In Persona 3, when I hear that chuckling sound and Fuuka screaming "I sense Death" I get panicked and start looking for the staircase while shitting my pants.
