Really? The people who enjoy Final Fantasy? I'm sure those are people with Playstations, and if Square is correct about ANYTHING they say, they're on the 360 too, which is why FFXIII is on the 360 now.

Dragon Quest has jumped platforms to whatever is most popular in Japan. Kingdom Hearts is much more popular in United States than Dragon Quest and even Final Fantasy.

This, and Square used to be Nintendo-exclusive, so it's not a stretch to imagine them developing for the Wii exclusively. Besides, kids make up a MUCH larger portion of KH's demographic than typical FF players, and kids make up a HUGE portion of the Wii's demographic. Just because the same company develops FF and KH doesn't mean the same demographics play them. One is obviously more popular with kids than the other, and would thus be better suited for the Wii.

I could've sworn the game was mainly Disney based which is for everyone like the Wii, and are popular with kids like the Wii... |
Most Kingdom Hearts fan I've seen have been similar to you in the middle school to younger high school age.

And Final Fantasy hasn't? Final Fantasy VII jumped to the Playstation when it was previously Nintendo-exclusive. XIII started development when it was assumed the PS3 would continue Sony's market leadership and was too far along to change it when Wii started dominating. And even though FFXIII isn't coming to Wii, Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers looks like a pretty epic adventure in its own right.
I'm not saying that any of this proves Kingdom Hearts will or won't come to whatever platform, I'm just saying that their support of all platforms has been pretty high-quality for the entire generation. I personally think it'll go to Wii if it comes out this generation, but there's no proof either way.

If FF XIII was announced for DS then I'd agree with you wholeheartedly. I'd say they haven't even more because Versus XIII and XIV still aren't releasing on Wii or DS.
And honestly, I don't think you can compare Crystal Chronicles to the main series.
Well, being that KH is a more American oriented title, I see more reason to have a HD version of that than FF13 from a financial preceptive.
| Soriku said: There was a poll a little while ago that a lot of people who play FF play DQ (and vice versa). Of course, it wasn't a HUGE poll but then again you can't expect much from gaming polls... Anyway, DQ X is coming to the Wii. Doesn't it make sense that if DQ fans play FF, and FF fans play KH, that means DQ fans play KH as well? And DQ is a bigger series than FF in Japan so there's more possible players on the Wii, not to mention its already bigger userbase... And this is just Japan only. We're not counting the West where KH is the biggest, and so is the Wii. And everybody should (hopefully) agree that KH demographic = Wii demographic. I've said it since...a long time. The Wii gets DQ and KH while the HD consoles get FF/Star Ocean (counting 'big' main series). |
But DQ isn't big in the west, FF is much bigger. So shouldn't it be an HD game?
Seriously though, it could go either way. There's a slim chance of KH III being announced at TGS next year.
| Soriku said: And ignore that the Wii is also very popular in America, and fits the demographic more? |
Wii fits the Disney demographic more, but Wii isn't getting a main Final Fantasy which will attract a lot of the Kingdom Hearts fanbase.
I'm not saying it's a PS3/360 game, I just think you're assuming too much that it's for Wii.

Yeah, but you can't ignore the FF fans etither. For all I know KH III will be released on all 3 consoles.
And I said TGS next year, I agree there's no chance it'll be announced this year.
