Forums - Nintendo - Metroid Prime Trilogy on Metacritic

Metroid Prime Trilogy got 92/100 from Metacritic which I think is pretty good. Actually awesome.

But I think it should have a metacritic of atleast 94.

What do you guys think?

I wasn't a fan of the games. It is not my type of game though, I easily get bored of games where you can't see your character, and games that have a dark/underground atmosphere. So 92 or not, I would enjoy it as much as a game scored around 50. I think a lot of people would feel likewise.

I think Metroid: Other M looks REALLY good though.

pretty good. im a huge fan of the series but i allready have all three, so there really is no reason for me to get it.

I scored it higher than that.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Technically, metacritic did not give the games any score since it just tallies the existing scores.
(Well, technically, it does translate letters to scores -- which explains how a B+ is an 83 -- which would have been a C+ in my high school).

Here is what I cannot understand from 1UP
MP1 (GC): A
MP2 (GC): A-
MP3 (Wii): A
MPT (Wii): B+

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Metacritic score of 92 is perfectly fine...if not too much for games that we have all played.

For people that missed out on these games metacrtic score is too low...but whatever, sucks for them for missing some of the best GC games.

This bundle is truly great value...like Orange box on 360. I don't think anyone will play through these games in one sitting.
It will be more like:
beat MP1...go play something else for 3 months...come back beat MP2...etc

Stupidity? Or a lie?

Trolling or... trolling?

Forum rules:

Substance. Content is king. Threads lacking content can and will be locked. Some tips to keep you and your posts out of trouble:

  • Do not post only that Item A sucks, or that Item B is better than Item C. Give reasons why, post links to documented problems, of screenshots, or whatever you can. Similarly, do not reply to other posters with "you're wrong." Explain why you disagree, and perhaps point to the correct answer.

Insults. Attacking other users for any reason is never acceptable.

It is still a very good score.

A good reason despite already owning all three games would be that the first two games now incorporate the superior control scheme from Corruption. Another reason would be that it is a neat collector's item.

I should have said "misinformation" instead of "stupidity" though. The lie would be that someone pretends to be a huge fan, but still doesn't see the trilogy as being worth the money. That's something I could see "professional" reviewers doing.

New controls maybe, but at the end of the day you're just playing the same game you played years ago all over again.  You're going through the same areas, fighting the same enemies, getting the same power-ups, facing the same challenges.  Remakes and combination packages need to be judged on two levels:  appeal to existing owners and appeal to perspective owners.

MPT and Orange Box are great for people who haven't experienced the games before but there needs to be new content to appeal to existing owners.  For some, new controls and slightly updated graphics is enough to warrant a repurchase.  However, there are a lot of people like TX109 who are going to say "If I played all 3 games already and nothing significant has been added, why buy them all again?"  I mean, if they played the living daylights out of the 3 Metroid Prime games when they were first released, why not spend their money on something that provides a fresh new experience like... Boom Blox.
