Is Ratchet as good this gen as previous? If so I'll definately buy them. Also I may pass on Infamous ( I'll rent first ) But Uncharted 2 is a definate.

Nah, definetly buy inFamous =) I've learned that the games I love the most are the ones I could just play over and over with pure enjoyment.
ES: Oblivion, Total War games, inFamous, Bad Company (although the servers recently have been HORRIBLE =( couldn't play at all), etc are games I can pop in and count on having a great time.
Controls for inFamous are awesome, I really love how fluid and easy they are, but it doesn't really make the game any easier, since the emphasis is on the tactics and positioning, not the technical skill. The only problem for me is that once you do all the side missions (which in turn clean up the city and stop enemies from respawning) it kinda gets boring and dry, so in my second play through I just did the main story missions so I can continue shooting up enemies =D
It's fucking awesome when you're fighting against dozzens of enemies. You have the option of a cover system (either by pressing O or climbing on some surface like a bus or wall and shooting from there), but you pretty much have to keep moving. So you're thinking, should I climb up and get a vantage point? From where, so I don't get shot from behind, especially with a RPG?
And all the meanwhile you're dodging, jumping, blowing back rockets and grenades, using your shield, draining, bio leeching, etc.
It just has awesome flow.
If there is a sequel I hope that they give permanent missions where you can keep fighting against huge numbers of enemies like in the story mission.
I'm almost gonna get a Platinum for this game =D Just gotta get the lightning bolt upgrade for dark side, whatever upgrades I need for good, get all the blast shards, some rail grinding thing... and I think that's it XD
Story is OK. I felt that they could have explored it a little more. I felt that the main theme should have been humanity/self interest vs utilitarianism. It felt just weird and disconnecting to make Cole into an saint or heartless bastard, because there's no sense of motivation. They could have emphasized Cole wanting to make a better world ALL for the sake of Trish (and you'll understand later) for good, and emphasize how Cole wants to protect Trish and her friends at all cost, and needs power to do so (maybe add a scene from his childhood where he was powerless to do something) for evil.
They could have even changed the motivation for the final boss depending on the route you take (for evil, the future Cole regrets becoming a defender of justice, and sacrificing everything he loved, his desires, and his humanity. For good, it'll be the same, Cole losing everything because of his selfishness)
IDK, there just didn't seem to be any motivation, and Cole didn't really fit the role of a blank slate type character where you could put yourself in him.
