Overheating as in they broke down or the owners were just too concerned? The engadget review says that they ran just as hot as the originals, which should be fairly hot if my 60GB is any indication but it never got in the way of anything.
People returned Slims within like 4 days because of overheating? Doesn't sound right.
too slim for it's own good?
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X
I wouldn't trust this, the PS3 slims sold in my area have all been performing fantastic according to the friends I have who picked one up. Also, at my eb we've had none returned. either OP is lying, or people are lying to return them. Seems fishy.
It's most likely out of concern of the heat rather then breaking.

The PS3 slim actually only appears to be producing more heat due to the exhaust, the PS3 itself is experiencing significantly LESS heat inside than the others (even though the original PS3 had the most revolutionary console design for heat dissipation ever created.) The slim definitely uses a cheaper setup, but in no way shape or form has less heat on the components. It produces significantly less heat than the other versions do, it just dissipates it in a odd manner. I would assume the 4 people just got scared. the 60gb PS3 scared me too.
