Most of the 360 sales will come from the Arcade model. PS3 Slim will easily outsell the Elite.
Sony will start releasing their family friendly franchises now that the price of the ps3 is acceptable. So...yeah, the beast has awoken.

PS3 Will definitely outsell the Elite.. now, will it outsell the Arcade? Hmmm, good question. Although I do expect this holiday to go rather well for Sony, the gap might close a bit.

but if m$ bundles the arcade like they did last year, the 360 may outsell the ps3 once again but i predict it will probably be 50/50 in america with a overall lead contributing to japan and europe.

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.
Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)
End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):
Wii: 81 mil 360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil

True. 10 million Halo 3's sold and Halo ODST already has 600k+ pre orders according to VGChartz. It will give a boost for 360 sales.
I am pretty sure that PS3 will outsell worldwide, no doubt for EU [Gran Turismo 5] and Japan [FF13+GT5]. For America, like what everyone says, I am pretty unsure. Depending on Sony if they mass advertise the PS3 Slim and their games, then they will outsell.
Going to be an interesting Holiday season this year.

PS3 slim since people who couldn't afford the 360 at 399 would have just gotten the arcade or pro.
But surely PS3 has ALWAYS sold more than the 360 Elite, and it will continue to be so. Elite sales will go up of course once the Pro disappears completely (pro at $50 cheaper is surely still a better deal than Elite??? or is the extra HDD space and headset worth the $50), but it will still sell less than the PS3. If 360 WW sales is more than PS3 that will almost certainly be due to Arcade sales, except perhaps if 360 beats PS3 in a given week/month by more than about 20%.
So on a head to head sales basis PS3 vs. 360 Elite the PS3 will win every week except for the weeks of significant 360 software releases.
If MS wants to accelerate away from PS3 sales then Elite will need a price cut next year some time. I don't see Sony cutting Slim next year, perhaps in 2011 it will get $50 shaved off, then $50 the year after, if it's still selling. By the end of the fabled 10YP it'll be $99 ($189 here) like the PS2 is now.
