Slim sales will not be shown for some time. We know that there were/ are supply constraints until the slim is officially released.
Sure the slim came out in some areas and the existing PS3's probably all sold out once the price dropped to $300... this combined with supply constraints will show a very modest boost for the PS3 if any in the next few times the sales figures come out.
But once we get a full week of data that includes a full week of time after Sept. 1st, then even in America, where people like to buy the RROD console without blu-ray, the PS3 will destroy the 360 in sales.
It will remain this way through the holidays, and through most of next year until Natal comes out and even then, it will have to be very compelling for it to overcome the built up momentum that the PS3 will have had at that point in time.
Plus Sony's motion tech is supposed to be out before that which will likely nullify any Natal effect.
I have said this before, but here goes;
Even after Microsofts $100 price cut of their own, they no longer have a 360 sku that includes a hard drive which is cheaper than the PS3.
The sku in place of the pro is the elite, and with a $100 price cut, it still is not cheaper than the PS3.
Which just happens to be an entirely new system, even if it is just a slim redesign with a bigger HD.
You are right, lets wait for the numbers, but we all know what will happen.
