The rabid PS3 fanboys are so numerous on forums that after spending some time on them, you start to think it's already a fact slim is/will destroy 360 in sales. My advice is simple: Not so fast. We dont have a single hard sales data (Media Create, NPD, Chart Track etc) to back this up. The first inklings we have are Amazon and Vgchartz data, which I dont consider reliable.
My thought is 360 is going to do a LOT better than people think in the coming months, will sell toe to toe with slim at least in USA, and probably even beat the slim in USA. All we need now is to wait for the data. I suspect the first clue will be August NPD, and PS3 fans will be ready with a lot of excuses why PS3 got outsold again, mainly they will say slim came out September 1st, when it was actually mostly available on August 25th.
We will also get media create data early since it's weekly. I suspect PS3 will not sell as well in Japan as desired, sure it will get a nice bump, but it will not sell to fanboy expectations I predict. This will be the first clue slim will disappoint, again I predict it here.
The fact is everything that was "supposed" to push the PS3 to utter domination over 360 in the past failed, whether it was MGS4, prior price cuts, KIllzone 2, etc. Why will slim be any different?
My point is, wait for the data!
