So because you and what 6 other people in the world have had their PS3s break on them, that equals the millions of 360s that red ringed? I sense a flaw in your logic

thanks for the heads up. i guess ill skip hd for this gen because of hardware failures.
You're a bit off man, I've been trying to spread the real console failure rates for a while now: http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/post.php?id=2324952
Well considering your 360 broke down as well, Maybe you're not putting in a well ventilated spot? I've known several people that constantly have their ps3 fan bearing full boar, because theres just no room around the thing for it to push its heat out to.
I for the first time ever met someone who has had a PS3 failure just yesterday. I didn't think to ask him which model it was although he told me he had it for less then a year when it died. He told me when he called customer support they were not friendly and told him if he couldn't find his receipt that he would have to pay for the repair. Since he couldn't find it he just went ahead and bought a new one. He says it will no longer read discs. Is this an easy fix, if so I may just offer him some cash for it and try to fix it for myself.
60GB launch PS3, not a single problem after moving twice. Just saying that I don't believe the PS3 is as bad as the 360. I know just as many with PS3 as 360, and I've only witnessed a single failure on a 360 elite and none on the PS3s.
Do you get any type of warranty renewal after repair? It seems unfair if the same thing broke a few month later to have it repair again at the absurd cost....

yeah 3 months, but if you don't get that far away from warranty they may even fix it for free.
ps3 have to be well ventilated, it prevents the fan to get overboard.
i feel for you man...
hasnt happened to me with any system
but that sucks!
havent had any faulty hardware so i dont have to blame any companies :D!
If you ever get a new PS3 make sure you vacuum the dust out every three months. It can decrease the chances of it braking on you. I still have my 60 gig PS3 and it makes little to no sound at all.
