Forums - Gaming Discussion - Favorite areas of Video Games.

So right now I'm replaying FFVI and I got to Phantom Forest and more specifically the train. I realized how much I love the atmosphere of this area. It is probably one of my favorite areas in any RPG. The area had so much depth, just like the rest of FFVI's world. Everything fits perfectly, especially the music(damn the music in this game is awesome.) Also the cutscene after you get off the train is one of my favorites. So yeah because of this, I was inspired to make a thread about the favorite places in Video Games you've been too. I'll post more later on in the thread. Me being a big fan of Metroid, you can expect that that series will be the majority of my list if I do all of my favorites now.

Here is a video of the forest and the train. I don't believe there are any major  spoilers in it.

Nowhere to run...

  Nowhere to hide...

    No escape for you...

Edit: I forgot to mention that when I first played Final Fantasy VI I was around 5 years old, and this part actually scared me then....

great choices, Secret of mana is one of my favourite games simply cause of the multiplayer, i want another game like it...

Here is another one.

Phendrana Drifts - Metroid Prime

The atmosphere of Metroid games is why I love the series so much. Metroid Prime was my first(yes I started the series late, but love it more than any other). The point where I knew that this was the best game I ever played(now super metroid is, but that was before I played super metroid) was when I entered the snowy area that was Phendrana Drifts. Snowy areas are always my favorite in Video Games, and I found Phendrana Drifts to top my list in the best snowy area I've been to in a game. It felt so real. To top it off the music fit the area so much. The combination of the snow falling, and the soothing music, along with the colorful weaponry samus has, and the skillful enemies really impressed me. Also to top it off, I got to end it with one of my favorite bosses of the series, Thardus.

I'm going to bump this thread just because I want to see more opinions, that is a valid reason right?
