Newb zone of course, but from there instead of traveling to the new location you have travel points. These points are linear progression from A->B->C->D with each area progresseivly getting more difficult. So instead of providing a SW world(like KotoR) you have more a levels like SW:TFU. Where as say WoW let's you even a lowly level 14 travel to level 50 areas(your gonna die). You can't progress from the area until you finished the quest line. Once done the area is obsolete. Though I believe there will be HUB environments to meat and travel with people. (1)

Also I thought Bioware was suppose to really one up choreography of combat. That's what they claimed. and that they wanted to capture the feel of starwars. Well light sabers take about a good 6-10 whacks to kill a creature O_o. The bounty Hunter is taking a huge number of blaster shots, but apparently they include a cover system? (2)

(1) That's pretty much how MMOs currently work isn't it?  I mean, you don't grind or fight boss monsters in past areas unless you get a quest that sends you all the way back there.  Otherwise you get in the way of low-levels trying to gain XP/money/etc.  The only difference this would do is further separate each area and let you know when to move on.

(2) A lightsaber takes 6 hits to kill something as opposed to... killing it in one hit?  Do you know what an RPG is?  Do you know how weapon balance works?  Let's give the player a weapon that kills everything in one hit and see what happens.  Huh, no one is playing any other classes or using any other weapons.  Wow, everyone has finished the game already.  How did this happen?

Hey I played WAR and know a few dudes, who play LOtor.

Basicly the decission between these two comes down to one question: Do you like PVE or do you PVP. LotrO is basicly a story pve game with rich and colorful quests, wich follow the LOTR story.

WAR is  PVP centric, although there are some PVE instances. Now let me tell you that WAR was by far the best experience i ever had in an MMO. But it only lasted from lvl 0-27. After lvl 25 the leveling process get tedious and playing the same scenarios for 20000 time gets boring. I also had a problem with the scenarois b/c they were IMO not as good structured as they are in WOW. I quit the game after 2-3 months, but i would still play it if some of my usual buddies would play it.

About Aion, FFXIV and new SW MMO.

SW MMO : Basicly  a Kotor game but online. You can look at it like an evolution of LotRO. While waiting for this one you can easily play something else, b/c it don't gonna come out until late 2010 or even 2011.

Aion: Cannot understand what's so special or good about this one. I looked at the classes and they are all plain and generic, nothing i would pick.

FFXIV: So yeah .. it has FF in it's name and it is on console(s) but there rly are no features or information on this game. FFXI was meh so i would pass on this one.

My choise would be WAR.

Thanks! This is the kind of thing I was looking for :).

I played PVP for years, and after yelling at the screen a few hundred times due to greefing, I gave it up about 5 years ago. I know they have done a huge job at removing greefing, but after going carebear, I actually like it better. I play games to relax, and PVP is fun to jump into and out of, but not something I look forward to as an every day thing.

Plus, I am 40... when I was younger I was damn good at it. Now all the 16 year olds kick my ass. So, I will go LotR :)

Thanks for the info!
