The shovelware starts to get... good?

Conspiracy Entertainment, publisher of such renowned hit games as Action Girlz Racing and Ninjabread Man, has released their most critically acclaimed Wii game yet:

Real Heroes: Firefighter

None of Conspiracy's 18 other Wii games have enjoyed such a glowing reception, with a metascore of 73 and not a single score below 70 to date. Just listen to what the reviewers are saying:

The Epicenter Studios' game is a nice supplemental FPS if you're looking for a break from the usual and expected, and though the game has a few issues here and there that didn't get cleaned up before publish, it's a solid and impressive effort that's released at a hard to beat price.  -- IGN

It’s a surprisingly immersive and competently controlling first-person soaker from a completely unexpected source — a budget title with a generic name. -- Gamezone

Yes, Real Heroes is a little rough around the edges but when you are in the thick of gameplay that won't matter as you get pulled into the world of firefighting. -- Kombo

But don't just take the word of those stuffy reviewers, here's what the gamers on Metacritic are saying about it:

Diego M. gave it an 8:
This is a taste of how the controls of the Nintendo Wii can really make a game more immersive. Give the guys at “Epicenter Studios” more budget and time, and they will make a groundbreaking game. Is in the graphic department where this game lacks punch, but the guys behind it have show us that imagination and creativity are more important than HD graphics or tons of blood. Give it a try, its really fun.

Steven W. gave it a 10:
Who said real life was dull? this is a WAY more engaging game than metroid prime corruption that I just finished forcing myself to play for a couple of weeks after spending way too much money on it. firefighters is far more fun and interesting and varied.

Don K. gave it a 10:
Who would have thought it? sounds like shovelware, looks honestly kind of sub par (at least the water fx imho are sub par), but the gameplay, the dialog, the timing, the reality of it all, the story line and the actual events in the game are all really fun and immersive! This is well worth $30 or more. better than many $50 games on the wii. amazing graphics aren't everything, although these don't suck at all, they're pretty well between n64 and early gamecube release quality. but it doesn't matter, GREAT game! tons of fun.

That's right, Steven W. says it's better than Metroid Prime 3: Corruption!

I don't know what to make of it. Maybe the only thing these 'shovelware' developers need to make a good game is enough funding to realize their vision.

:O

Pixel Art can be fun.

I guess not all shovelware devs are thinking just about money, like Activision, but looking at shovelware as more as an act of necessity and desire to use money to fufil their dreams, not just get rich off it.

Well, time to buy the NEXT Guitar Hero.

Some people have to work their way up to the top.

Unfortunately, they had to get their hands really dirty before they could do it.

Fucked if I know.

Define shovelware. Define casual, hardcore, mature, core, AAA, analyst and videogame journalist while you're at it.

Wow that kind of ties in with my thread but really I don't know what to say. So this game is good huh. Then, I guess its not shovelware because it doesn't recycle everything or anything in that case from any of their past games. I have shovelware defined in my thread so I have a good understanding of it.
