^ What a typical response. Everybody who is not a gay lover is infact gay!

Although you said a shit load of things I disagreed with (and if I haven't gotten a mod warning recently, I'll probably be insulting you) I really have to bring attention to this and agree with you. I fucking hate it when people use this old and tired retort, and what's worse is that by using it, they're even giving credence to using homosexuality as a insult and something that's negative >.<

How so? It was just a statement saying I think one or two posters overcompensating... I also didn't say everybody and I certainly didn't mean itt as an insult.

Let me tell you a story. When I was at school there was a bully called Barry, he used to pick on a lot of the more "feminine" boys and his favorite insult was calling people gay and using it as an very negative and derogatory insult, as well as beating them. He was persistant with picking on these kids and calling them gay as an insult. I saw him again for the first time in about five years couple of months back, guess what, he's gay. All that overcompensation and gay bashing was just hiding what he really felt.

Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, but you can tell when someone is overcompensating.

But I think you and I know that your fisrt statment applied to me, and my argument contradicts what you're saying. If I was insecure or overcompensating wouldn't I come off with something like 'I dislike gays becuase they are gay?'

Thats not what I'm saying, and you're first statement is also extremely over-used.

Eh, in my experience it's false, but there are a lot o factors that might come into play with why you think that it is that way.

You said that the number of people who are openly gay in your homeland is very low, right?

Yes, because my country has a very small population compared to other places and is also very un-multicultural, again in comparison to many other areas.

I don't know anything about the factors and it's hard to quantify them even for a person living there: Ireland just doesn't have many people who are open about their homosexuality. We agree on that point.

Now, since we agree on that point, would you also agree that, on a given day in your own country, you see more heterosexual couples than homosexual couples - snogging or not?

A. I wasn't reffering to you.

B. It's used because it is sometimes true, as per the story.

Yes, ofcourse, but my point is that when I see alot of homosexuals snogging/kissing in public it's not the usual subtle one I see with most heterosexuals, it's more sexual, like they are fully into it, like they want everybody to stop and stare at them.

- Also, sorry for double post.

Do you straight guys think, as (I think it was the OP in some post mentioned) "guys are disgusting"? In other words, do you consider yourself disgusting?

Cause it's an odd thing, a couple of weeks ago my dad was looking for a new secretary and I was skimming through CVs and saiyd about one of the girls (who had included a picture) "she's cute"... and he was surprised, like I wouldn't know (and she was a really girly girl too).

I don't think girst are disgusting... I think some are cute and some are attractive on a general basis. I don't hear straight girls say that girls are disgusting but that was maybe the 5th or 6th time I heard that in a guy's case.

Now, that's not the point I'm getting to. Give me a minute.

Would you not say, given this, that you are more acclimated to seeing heterosexual couples than homosexual ones? That is, heterosexuality is more normal to you?

Well I'm straight and I don't find guys disgusting, it's just I wouldn't find a naked male/gay sex attractive or nice to look at.
