Which one feels more overused:Mario or Final Fantasy?

Final Fantasy has lots of games (Tactics,Crystal,Dissidia etc) and I'm not sure how much Mario has..

Final Fantasy has lots of extra stuff (Movies,figures,potions(LOL).

But I think unlike Final Fantasy, Marios aren't bringin anything new to series for past 10 years.

I feel Mario is more overused.

I have played about all Final Fantasy games from 8 and about all Marios from Yoshis Island (Well played Galaxy 20 minutes and got sick of it).

Mario, he's been in almost all genres, hell he's even been in the Olympics, all we need now is a UT3 game but with Mario themed, and blood is replaced by flowers and mushrooms XD

Mario is more overused. But, I think it is easier for Final Fantasy because it is built upon having new characters or places for each iteration if the designers so choose. Mario games sort of have to have mario.

Heck, at E3, incase you forgot... they had 4, yes four, Mario games at the conference...
