During the night:

  • Mafia kill someone
  • Doctor chooses one person to protect from Mafia

The goal of the townsfolk/doctor/cop is to get rid of a Mafia member each day.

The goal of the Mafia is to get rid of all the townsfolk.

So, what's the strategy to get rid of Mafia? Just look closely at the votes and decide? I guess it is about deduction.

But wouldn't it suck if you got rid of a Townsperson and the mafia killed one? That dashed two people right there.

Hmmm, I'd say it's better if it's revealed as mafia. That way, the cop may unwillingly reveal the traitor to the mafia (because they didn't count him as one of theirs), and they'll rush to protect him

Trying ot metagame a traitor is hard. They're still technically a Townie, not a Mafia - they win with Mafia, but the Town can win using them and they don't actually help the Mafia in any way. The Mafia can kill them, even. By accident.

It's a very interesting role.



We also gotta decide how to rebalance the number of mafia if we add new roles, for example, if we're 15 and we're playing with one Arsonist, one Firefighter and one Traitor, how many mafia (and cops) should there be?

With 15 people... 4 mafia and 2 cops sound about right. I'm not gonna promise you that's the final number, though. >_>

The general rule of thumb is 1 Mafia = 3 Townsfolk.  If we get 16 people, that's 4 Mafia.  If we're having extra roles that aren't strictly townsfolk then we need to count them out.  I'm thinking 3 Mafia or maybe 4 with an additional cop.


How about you Khuutra? (Since Khuutra has a lot of experience with Mafia.)
