Sony needs for the Japanese market to pick up, and for it to beat out the 360 more handily in Europe.

In America, it just needs to stay competitve.

I find it hard to believe Sony will make it work. For me it all hangs on MGS4 and FF13 staying Sony exclusive. If that changes then it will never happen.

MGS4 in my mind is a timed exlusive, until we see how much it sells, it remains exclusive

ff 13 i think always will, unless 360 starts picking up in japan

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

One thing I am waiting for is for this holiday to pass to see what games MS has lined up for us for 2008 and beyond that just haven't been announced. I mean imagine if gears of war 2 comes out next holiday. GTA4 should sell more on the 360 not just because of the installed base but the extra content should sway many gamers to that version. If one thing is certain so far regarding the 360 is that the owners are going out and buying many games as indicated by the incredibly high attach rate. You buy a 360 to play games vs there might be some people who just wanted a cheap blu-ray player.

 GTA extra content won't do much for the 360.  How many people will know about it besides guys like us that spend all their time on a video game forum?

What will make the ps3 shoot past the 360? I'll let the pics talk for themselves.

True, more may know aboout it now.


 MS payed big money for this exclusive so I am sure they let people know about it.  Even Rockstar has said that if you want the complete package then the 360 version is the one to get.

That is a nice list of games though the 360 has one just as good. Of all those games the only one I would buy a PS3 for is Little Big Planet but that is just because those franchises never appealed to me and I hope HAze makes it to the 360 if not then there are plenty of other shooters. Again no knock on those games as I hope they turn out to be great as my cousin owns a PS3 and poor guy after getting a PS3 launch has zero PS3 games again is about preference and of the games you listed he also is only interested in Little Big Planet and ratchet.

On a side note I have a reason why the PS3 may surge ahead of the 360 in the future. Mainly a nice price drop that would have it $300 or less. Even if the blu-ray player is still fighting with HD-DVD in the future at that price it doesn't hurt to have a high definition player and play some of those games you mentioned. Though I stick to my games being the key and so far there just isn't a game for the PS3 in the near future that says to me buy a PS3. I am sure is the same way why some people might not jump on the 360 or the Wii though Mario Kart is the game that will make me buy it. I bought my 360 for saints row, not gears, halo or any other game but Saints Row was just so much fun for me when I played the demo at my cousins house it said to me Buy a 360. With games like gears, guitar hero 2, and Halo 3 I have truly enjoyed my 360.

The main problem with the 360s list for '08 is that they are all new IPs except for Fable 2 and NG2, much like the second half of my ps3 list. They could all end up being crap games like like Lair or do as little for sales as Warhawk and Heavenly Sword.

You may not like games like FFXIII or MGS4, but you can't deny their selling power. You can't deny that tons of other people love them, even if they bore you to tears.
