Forums - Nintendo - So.. who here has bought Cursed Mountain?

Just thought I'd echo what everyone else has said about the game. Graphically it's top-notch, some of the views from the monasteries are breathtaking. Although it's slow paced it adds to the tension and I reckon it's paced about right. The production values are high, and I was very impressed with both the sound and the camera switching when moving into certain areas. Not too sure who the Director is but he's done an excellent job so far.

I'm about halfway through (judging by the documents I've collected) and have played around 10 hours so I'd say the 20 hour playthrough time is about right. Very impressed with it so far, the only thing I'm disappointed with is the fact that I can't play this in the dark with headphones on - my kitten makes that impossible lol.

This is going on my list of 'must-buy' titles for the Wii. Buy it!!!

@Myviewing I had the same problem. Instead of moving your hand up, tilt it inward. I found that works much better.

I've actually been playing a little while ago, and I realized that as well.  Thanks for the thought though

Not to mention I beat the game a little while ago, I don't know if the reviewer at Digital Chumps is bad at the game or whatever, but this game is not 20 hours long.  I managed to beat it in about 8, and after that there's not much to go back to unless you really want to revisit the locales again.  Still, I had a fun time with it, and I can reccomend it overall, you can certainly do worse for that much.

I've got it now. I was taking a break from Batman last night and popped it in, creeped me the fuck out. I was freaking out a bit.

Guess that settles things for me.. I won't buy it, wish I could but actually want to live, I'm easily scared half to death.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

I don't want to bust it for you, but the game isn't really scary. There is a moment every now and then, but the game is more survival than horror. I am hard to scare though, and I think of this for most games with the exception of Silent Hill and Fatal Frame.

Just battled the first "boss". It was ok. Frustrating at first cause of those damn controls.

Story is really intriguing. Just wish there was more stuff to do instead of go from point A to point B.

Good game overall. So far I rate it a .........7.7!!!!

I finally got around to start playing it. Played it for about 3 and a half hours sometime between 12 and 4 in the morning. Pretty good if I may say so, looks good as well. Haven't gotten very far in it because I'm pretty much trying to see if I might've missed an item or two along the way.

I really don't see what the big deal is with the combat system when you banish ghosts. All I got reminded of was the RE4 controls when you are getting ready to fire. The only times I messed up with the gestures are when I thrust the controls straight ahead instead of towards the center.

Anyway it does give off a creepy vibe and while I didn't get creeped out with the ghosts themselves I was more creeped out when I heard something around the corner instead. Gotta love the the ambience hehe. So yeah, so far so good.

Yup, not had any problems with the controls since I worked out how to do the thrusting motions. Just move the remote or nunchuck from the horizontal position to the vertical position and give a quick stab forward. I've found it best to end up having the remote and nunchuck at a slight angle, so that the Z button for example is facing directly up. And the remote with the same angle too. Works every time unless you're panicking lol.

This game really is excellent, although I've found it to be a little too easy so far since I worked out the controls.

yup. I figured out the controls.

Can anyone who has beaten the game tell me how far I am? I just beat the 6 armed monster.

Muramasa side-tracked me from this game. I was expecting to beat it today, but Muramasa has to come and ruin everything. :(
