lifted? All they originally said was that it would be available worldwide by the first week of September. They also stated it would become available gradually, but everywhere by Sept 1.

So, no lifting, its just now arriving at retailers.

at gamercon i heard first week of sept. i didnt hear anything esle. O well at least people know go get your ps3 slim!!!

I heard that SONY told retailers to put them on the shelves as soon as the stores received them. A Canadian SONY rep. said that even though the SLIM rumors leaked, they didn't leak that there was a huge stockpile of slims in Canada waiting to be shipped.

They just want to clear the phat stock first and then they can release the slims

You can buy it anywhere now. I work at Best Buy and today they UPS'ed them directly to us and our employee news told us to start selling. I personally put them on my shelves this morning.
